"Lovely location, really excited driving up to the property - long drive on single track and cottage is situated on its own little track - away from it all, log fire brilliant in the evenings to keep the sitting room cosy. The property itself was a bit of a let down as it was not clean, dead spiders in the beds, stains on the bed linen, live and dead flying insects everywhere (after we put the heaters on) we were 'invaded' by biting insects in the bathroom and staircase at night - got bitten whilst staying at the cottage several times. Cutlery, bowls and pans and plates had food stuck to them and had to be washed thoroughly before use, for us as our first visit/impression it left us not wanting to return - we left early Thursday morning as we just could not relax in the cottage - everything we touched/tried to use had to be washed! We would have called regarding the cottage, but we were able to clean the cottage ourselves, and bought extra fly spray etc - did not make it feel like much of a holiday though.Aware there has been a recent loss for the owner and this probably isn't the norm for the cottage, however we would not stay here again."

"Tan Y Fedw is a beautiful cosy cottage situated in the friendly village of Trefriw. All of the rooms were pristine and warm with everything you could want - maps, local information, games and books. The kitchen was fully-equipped and easy-to-use. There was a lovely welcome pack of local produce in the fridge when we arrived which was delicious. The owners were lovely and welcoming; they came and greeted us when we arrived, and came to see us off as well. They gave us lots of tips about where to go and what to see, and made us feel truly at home. The cottage overlooks a picturesque field with a river running through it, and a public footpath takes you into the village centre. The cottage has a raised terrace overlooking the field which is a great place to relax with a cup of tea. We'd really recommend the Trefriw Trails walks - although you have to look very carefully for some signposts and a backup map is highly recommended! We had a lovely holiday and would recommend this cottage to anyone who would like to get away to north Wales."

"the whole property is in need of a refurbishment, the back yard is a disgrace. there is a big gap down one side of the toilet door, whoever fitted the new doors did a very poor job of the lot, with gaps allover. the door to the 3rd floor bedroom wont even shut. a lot of the walls were damp. when the extractor above the cooker was switched on the whole insides of it fell onto the cooker. when we arrived we were told not to open the windows, which we obviously ignored, being in the middle of summer. the shower would not keep a constant temperature. the upper bedroom although huge does not have even a chair to put clothes on or sit on when dressing. the lower staircase must be unsafe as there is no possibility of holding onto the handrail as it is flush with the wall. the property has the potential to be nice if some money was spent on it. I am totally surprised it is in your portfolio."

"Don't think we've ever stayed in such a well equipped accommodation, anything you could think of was there for you. The wi fi works perfectly, the smart TV is a decent size & quality, there is mood lighting in the living room, as much hot water & heating as you need, all the furniture & beds are very comfortable,it is a little paradise. The combination of modern & traditional style in this old quarrymans cottage works beautifully. It was an extremely wet week when we stayed,so we didn't manage to do much walking, but it was such a pleasure to relax in the cottage it didn't spoil anything. I can't think of a nicer place to get 'rained in'. Parking wasn't a problem & the road was easy to find & Bethesda was easy to drive in & out of. We enjoyed some nice takeaways & good days out in Bangor & Carrnarfon. Thank you Ceri & Sion for creating such a wonderful experience."

"This was our second stay at ty newydd and we are already planning to go again, hopefully in October but if not definitely next year! The cottage is perfect. The location is beyond words. No noise, no people, no traffic! Just sheep for company. Idyllic!!bthe owner is very nice and the milk wine and welsh cakes were very much appreciated! The cottage is one of the best equipped we have ever been to. Didn't need to take anything other than clothes, personal items and food. Thank you for the wonderful stay and we will be seeing you very shortly!! Bear the dog says it's his favourite place too. He loves all the walks and curling up in front of the real log fire"
