"This is a great base for people who enjoy simplicity. The cottage is relatively small as you would expect for an old, rural Welsh cottage, but as the children spent all spare time playing in the many secret spots in the garden, it was perfectly adequate. We spent every evening eating outside under the distant mountains. I walked the dog every morning on the hill directly out of the back garden gate, and never tired of the stunning views of Portmerion and Harlech castle. There are all the amenities you need in Porthmadog, 20 minutes in the car, or prefect tranquillity if you'd rather it, at the cottage. There's no tumble drier, but the heated towel rail and sitting cupboard meant we could dry clothes when the weather was too changeable to use the clothes line. We had a brilliant week exploring Snowdonia, biking in Cody Brennin, beaches at Borth y gest , Criccieth, and Blackrock sands, crabbing at Porthmadog, taking the train from Talarnau request stop station to Barmouth for fish and chips. If you love the outdoors, this place is an absolute gem."

"We had an excellent weekend away in the Ty Bach Twt cottage. The interior is decorated to a high standard with a very modern feel. Very well resourced in the kitchen with everything we could have needed. We were extremely pleased that on arrival we were greeted by the owners and to our surprise a lovely lemon drizzle cake had been baked and left in the kitchen for us, it was very much appreciated and a lovely welcoming touch. We would have liked to have used the hot tub but unfortunately the weather wasn't on our side. The location is perfect with only a few minutes drive to the beautiful sandy beach. We tried out a couple of the local pubs and they were also very welcoming and had delicious pub food. Would definitely recommend staying at the cottage, a home from home."

"Decent location although no views, house lacked any personal touches compared to the many we have stayed in before, no books or games available, coffee table up against a wall in lounge useless and too heavy to move, CD Player did not work, key in patio door needs fixing as didn't always lock.Bedrooms and bathrooms nice and beds comfy, plenty of room in the house just lacking character. Cleanliness lacking especially in the kitchen had to move microwave to get something dropped behind there where crumbs and grease behind there, looks like been there a good while.Grill pan and frying pan full of grease had to scrub before using, unacceptable standard."

"Lovely break away a quiet getaway, great price for the week, and allowed us to visit the sights of Snowdonia. Hot tub was beautiful. Barmouth was a lovely little town and the surrounding beaches were amazing. Had a couple of issues with the cooker getting to temp but someone came around very promptly and got it working, it was a little temperamental and was taking a long time to heat, wouldn't be an issue if it was a short break and grill worked fine. Bed very comfortable and all in all a really lovely and well fitted cottage. Would certainly recommend :)"

"Bryn Rhos Goch is a fab place to stay if you want something remote and simple. There's no mobile phone reception or WiFi, which I think is a plus as it gives you a real break. The cottage is well kept and has a well kitted out kitchen. The bedrooms have sloping ceilings so you can't quite stand except in the very middle - all very much as the original miner's cottage would have been (with the addition of modern luxuries like a bathroom and toilet!), right next to the old slate mine. A lovely little cottage which I would very much recommend."
