"This is a pretty good cottage in an excellent location, but it is let down by so many niggles and is not terribly comfortable to stay in. There should be a low ceiling warning. The letter box bangs and you need to put some card in it to stop it; there is no lock on the door leading into the garage from the kitchen, which is filled with rubbish, you can't really sit outside anywhere; the dishwasher is loose and rocks around and so catches on the kick board that runs along under the other cupboards; several plates are chipped and some stuff is very 70's and ought to be thrown away; we had to sit round the kitchen table most of the time because the seating in the sitting room is inadequate for 6 - there is a tiny chair and a very uncomfortable sofa which needs replacing - and there ought to be a rug and at few dvds to play (bring your own if it looks like rain, there are none at all); upstairs there are three good sized bedrooms but watch your head; all the mattresses need replacing as all are absolutely terrible and unsupportive (unforgivable if you are renting a property out), the bedding is poor quality and is very unappealing and not of a suitable quality for rental - and the towels and bath mats are washed out and grotty. If you like nice towels, bring your own. Towels and bedding ought to be replaced annually to keep it looking smart. They do supply tea towels. Bring your own hairdryer too - theirs looks lethal. The painting needs finishing in the upstairs bathroom and the towel ring needs reattaching to the wall. Both bathrooms need more towel rails - and the metal rack by the sink in the upstairs bathroom, which is the only place for your toiletries, is rusty. Yuck. Both bathrooms also need ventilation - downstairs the window needs replacing with a split window with a storm window to open at the top to preserve privacy and upstairs a velux would solve the ventilation and lack of light. All doors upstairs need hooks on for robes and towels, including the bathrooms. There is damp coming in round the velux in the second twin room and also round one of the windows on the landing outside. The porch has been repaired, though. The garage door needs painting as it makes the rest of the property look uncared for. It is almost as if the owners spent a lot of money on it to let out and got most of it done, then ran out of enthusiasm and imported a load of stuff from their grandparents' house - like the pictures on the walls. The welcome manual needs updating and sprucing up - this also gives the impression that the owners have run out of enthusiasm. They obviously haven't just started renting it out.... The area is outstanding; Findochty has a lovely harbour and we really enjoyed the coastline and proximity to Elgin. With a bit more care this could be such a nice place to stay - it just needs to be a bit more comfortable."

"A group of 7 of us (3 adults and 4 children under 10) all stayed at Seaspray during February half term. Actually this was our second visit but the cottage wasn't yet on TripAdvisor to write a review. All I can say is that the cottage is perfect. It is beautifully decorated, contemporary but with a very coastal cottage feel. Spotlessly clean, warm, spacious and well kitted out with everything you could possible need. It also has a wonderful sea view and is located right across the road from the sea. Portknockie is a peaceful village with a lovely harbour and lots of good walks, caves and beaches to explore. There is also a local Spar that is open til 8pm most nights or the Cullen Co-Op is just a couple of minutes drive away. I have to mention the beds! - all of the beds were comfortable ,the bedlinen was soft and clean and it was an absolutely joy to get into bed at the end of the day. Even though the weather was lovely, it was still cold so we spent a lot of time indoors enjoying this cosy cottage with the wood burning fire roaring! We will definitely be back again shortly. Simply perfect and we all have a fantastic time.."

"This is an outstanding cottage with wonderful charm and character, a real home from home. It is set in a picturesque location, in a coastal fishing village, on the Moray firth. The cottage is spacious, full of character and wonderfully decorated. It has everything you could possibly need! Clean, cosy and with some lovely personal touches, including a book containing information about the history of the cottage - fascinating - an old fisherman's cottage transformed into a contemporary coastal holiday home. The cottage has beautiful views out to sea. Portknockie harbour is quaint and peaceful, and Bow Fiddle Rock is just a few minutes walk from the house. This offered us incredible views and wonderful photo opportunities. We'd recommend getting up early to watch the sunrise behind Bow Fiddle - absolutely stunning! The Moray Coast Trail is a stones throw away and runs for 50 miles along the coast; perfect for cycling, running or walking along. We loved seeing seals from Portessie Bay, Ospreys from the top of the Bin of Cullen and we're looking forward to coming back to see the dolphins! We thoroughly recommend a holiday here!"

"We really enjoyed our stay and were pleasantly surprised. The open plan living area was lovely with a fabulous large corner sofa perfect for stretching out on (It would've been good to have a blanket provided). Kitchen was well equipped (only thing we needed that wasn't provided was a rolling pin and scone cutter but not everyone will want to bake on holiday). There was always plenty of hot water and the house was generally very warm, however it would benefit from dealing with the drafts from the doors. The bathroom was excellent and having an extra WC was really helpful. Both bedrooms were a good size, excellent wardrobes and storage space. We were in the bedroom with 2 windows and found the mattress very soft which could be a problem if you have back trouble like us. The property is stylish but in a very homely way which was really nice. There are loads of walks in the area with the speyside way on the doorstep. Would recommend staying at this property which is well priced for what you get."

"This cottage was in a great location near a lovely little harbour. It was in immaculate condition & equipped with everything you could possibly need. The owner met us & showed us around & presented us with a very generous welcome food hamper. The cottage was warm & cosy & a lot of thought had been given to its nautical /seaside decor. There was a huge range of board & console games /equipment, books & DVD's. so even if the weather is poor, lots to keep you occupied . Very quiet area so great to just unwind & chill out. The local pub was a couple of mins walk from cottage with very friendly owner & staff. Nice food. The village is very pretty as is the surrounding area. For the whisky lovers, loads of distilleries in the area, many nice places to have lunch etc. Everywhere we went the local people were friendly & welcoming . Lots of beaches & places to walk your dog. A big thank you to the owner Janette & her husband ,we had a lovely week that passed all too quickly"
