What our customers are saying about our Self Catering Holidays In Maentwrog.
Mrs Walker - verified booking
"The cottage was as described, however there were notes all around the cottage asking to be extra careful eg with the desk upstairs, and notes reminding you to use a chopping board and use a dish washing tablet when using the dish washer. There was also a sign requesting if two people only are staying to use only one bedroom to keep their linen costs down. The washing machine also had a large note on it requesting only a quick wash to be used. If the tumble dryer is used, the owner requests £5 for the week. I feel that if you are renting a cottage, you should be free to use whatever linen you require, without notes complaining about the cost of linen washing-this is incorporated into the cost of the cottage, the same for use of washing machine and tumble dryer. Note the owner also requests £100 good housekeeping fee, which was returned in full a few days later."

" From the moment we stepped inside the cottage it had a wonderful warm feeling as it was October the heating was on a timer which added to the cosyness the cottage was so tastefuly furnished .the table in the kitchen had been laid for us and our host had left a bottle of Bucks Fizz and some delicious Welsh chocolate such thoughtfulness The view of the little church and the view beyond was a delight Greystones garden was full of many little surprises a sheer delight Maentwrog is a tiny sleepy village very peaceful and the locals very welcomeing and I would recommend you take Sunday lunch at the Grapes hotel my only regret is that we could not stay longer but without a doubt we will be back. "

"The owners were very welcoming and greeted us with homemade cake and a bottle of bucks fizz. The cottage was immaculate. Plenty of space inside, a lovely balcony area out the back and extra storage/fridge under the cottage. There was a stash of games and dvd's for the kids which was handy whilst trying to get organised for a day out. The pub is a few metres away and we would highly recommend it. Friendly staff and amazing food but at the same time peaceful enough that you don't get disturbed by any noise from the pub back at the cottage. The locals are also very friendly and take time to have a chat. We would definitely return here."

" Close to lots of amazing places- our favourites were the slate caves, Snowdon, Zip world and Harlech castle and beach. The cottage itself was immaculate and beds were super comfy. We loved having the wood burning stove for the couple of cooler days we had. The kitchen has plenty of cooking utensils and crockery. Views are stunning and the boys loved watching the steam train passing up on the hill every day. Trish (owner) very kindly called me to tell us about the area as we had never been before- great recommendations, thanks! "
