"The Crows Nest is a beautiful little cottage with lots of little extras and everything sparkly clean and new. The location is great for coastal walks and good food, we, as a couple and our dog were perfectly suited to the accommodation. Later in the week we were joined by our son, daughter-in-law and 22month old grandson, that’s when it became a little more challenging. The cottage is advertised as suitable for four adults but it was a little tight. There is a spiral staircase up to the room in the roof which can be made into a super king double but is best suited as a twin for older children as the room opens out directly on to a spiral staircase. We had to leave the toddler on the first floor away from the spiral staircase which has a gate at the bottom, not at the top.If you are a couple with a small child or have a dog this is a perfect place to enjoy what we think is the nicest part of the Isle of Wight. Bembridge has several dog friendly beaches and really good pubs within walking distance. Parking on site is a real bonus too. Thank you Jacqui & Ian, we loved The Crows Nest and would happily return as a couple in the future."

"We had a lovely holiday at this cozy, eclectic house. The crows nest is in a beautiful location, situated only a short walk (or very short drive) from the beach and bembridge shops. Forelands beach was perfect for a morning walk with the dog. The house was clean and comfortable with plenty of entertainment and necessities provided. Dogs were not allowed upstairs however our puppy Rosie was very happy with the enclosed garden to run around. The view of the boats from the upstairs windows was good and the reading area was an added bonus. I would not reccomend this property for anyone with any kind of reduced mobility, ideally with only children needing to get up to the second floor with the twin beds. This is mainly because of the narrow spiral staircase used to get to the top bedroom, fun for kids but quite difficult for me, especially painful on the knees. Overall a lovely house, clearly a lot of thought and hard work has been put in to ensure guests have a pleasant stay but not quite suitable for me and my family."

"Fernlee is great, our usual cottage in Bembridge was no longer being used as a holiday let so we decided to try this one, it was freshly decorated when we stayed and was an extremely comfortable house to spend time in. The location is ideal, it's very quiet with the occasional car driving through and is just off the High St.The photos don't really do this place justice, it's light and airy with a nice neatly kept garden. Would have been handy to have wifi included but that's not essential. It's a shame the back bedroom is set up as bunkbeds, it is large enough for a zip link bed or double. The living room also has two comfy sofa beds for alternative sleeping arrangements and as I have an elderly dog I found that very helpful so I could sleep downstairs and keep an eye on him.We have both said we will be booking Fernlee again, possibly with friends to enjoy the I.o.W. with us."

"A truly homely, spacious cottage with delightful garden to spend relaxing time in (even in October we were able to sit outside twice and enjoy the sun after spending the exploring the island) On the one very wet day we had much enjoyment choosing videos and books from the many on offer. The owner had done everything possible to make this a home from home in all respects and we would have no hesitation in recommending it as a place to spend time in and to come back to after getting out and about to see the delights of the island. We also appreciated the fact that with Tesco a short distance by car one way and the Coop the other, we were able to self cater with ease."

"Fernlee is in a good location. There are plenty of supplies in the house but unfortunately everything is looking rather dated. The cleaners need to be sacked as there were cobwebs everywhere and the house could really do with a good deep clean.Decoration and furnishings look dated and don't actually match in some rooms and make the place look strange. Even pictures are not hung straight on the walls! And some of them are faded! It needs modernising and uplifting with some fresh paint and new furnishings. The double bed has a memory foam mattress which is not suitable for everyone. I came home with a back ache."
