What our customers say about their holidays

    • Nicola - Verified booking

The bedrooms in this property are compact.

The owners have clearly run out of budget and bought cheap second hand bits of furniture to put in them. The bedroom with the ensuite bathroom had a pullout computer desk to store clothes, which was covered in dust I might add. So there is no hanging space for clothes in this room. There is also no wardrobe/hanging space for clothes in the bedroom that overlooks the bathroom. They seem to have concluded putting two clothes rails in a cupboard on the landing is an acceptable solution. It isn’t in my book. I would strongly suggest getting rid of the dressing table (which had a miss-matching chair which is too low for it) from the bedroom facing the garden and putting in a wardrobe. I would also suggest getting rid of the computer desk in the other room and putting a wardrobe in there. I realise it would have to be half-height as the angle of the roof prevents full height, but it would be better than what’s there! The under-sink storage unit drawer in the ensuite has a drawer that opens about 10cm because the towel rail blocks it. The bath has no bath plug, so what’s the point?! The child gate for the stairs is broken, we had to use a lump of timber we found outside the back door to wedge it up. They have put a fence in which stops you being able to walk from the hot tub to the back door in order to access the downstairs shower room (utter stupidity). The shower tray fascia was hanging off in this bathroom. The kitchen was largely ok, except the ice-making unit in the freezer was broken and pushed the door open, so had to be taken out. The lounge/dining room was ok, I can confirm they have put a 6 seater dining table and chairs in which were not pictured in the listing at the time of our booking. The hot tub was good, heated on arrival so good to go day 1. There is a table and 6 chairs in the garden. Also 2 sun loungers and 4 seats which had cushions in a storage box. When the sun was out it covered most of the garden except the hot tub. They could do with putting a mat to wipe your feet outside the patio door, you end up bringing in a lot of grass if it has been recently mown - which based on our experience was the case. There are two three seater leather sofas, good, comfortable. Plus another sofa, looks like a click-clack one, not sure. But plenty of seating for 6 without being on top of one another. Ultimately if the above doesn’t bother you too much then go, but they just need to finesse the stupid mess ups in the place. Location is great walk down the hill to the little Tesco, takeaways then on to the beach which is glorious. This is one of three identical properties tucked on to this plot of land. We managed to squeeze three cars beside this property where the other two only have space out front for cars so 1 maybe 2 at most, otherwise you’d have to park on the street, which wasn’t overall busy in June.

This is without question the bast place in the UK we have ever stayed.

The property was immaculately clean, was situated in a fantastic location, and had everything you could possibly need for your stay. Just perfect for the type of holiday we wanted. There are lots of lovely walks about, several small beaches near and close to some great sightseeing locations. Plus, although you feel like you’re literally in the middle of nowhere, you’re less than a 15 minutes drive from Holyhead with every shop and amenity you could need, so forgetting something or taking everything you’ll need for your stay isn’t a problem. The property was completely clean, and although might not look it with the open spaces, really comfy and cosy of an evening. The open plan upstairs is great for small families and you’re treated to fantastic view from where ever you’re sitting. I’m really missing enjoying breakfast looking over the gorgeous scenic hills You can really tell that Sam, the host, has a passion for making peoples holiday special. Her attention to detail is brilliant, and she had just the right level of contact as to ensure your holiday and the property is okay, but nottoo much as to be overbearing. She was even so nice when our toddler caused a small breakage, only charging us for the replacement item, and not any additional breakage charged. Anglesey has become a firm favourite of mine, and although I do like staying in different properties each visit, I will struggle to not want to come back here, and will probably base my next visit to the isle around the availability of this property.

The location of Meadow View is great, very close to the beach and to explore the rest of Anglesey.

The house is on a plot with 2 other identical properties. We weren't disturbed but I chose to close the kitchen blind and lounge curtain for privacy. When booking I was drawn by the photos and reviews. Having staying in ample holiday cottage this one did not meet my expectation, due to the finish of the workmanship in the property, kitchen tap not fitted property, missing grout in both upstairs bathroom floor tiles and broken toilet holder as example. I would advise some attention to detail, the furniture ia dated, the garden needs attention and the grass should have been cut, hand wash to be provided in the bathrooms, 2 toilet roll per bathroom would have been acceptable, some personalised touches in the home for example, Benllech photos, a photo of Anglesey. There was nothing to indicate you were in Wales or just to make the house more homely. If these things don't bother you there's nothing necessarily wrong with this property. It was clean and comfortable, great location and ideal for 6 people sharing the cost.

Well, what can I say about this amazing place that hasn’t already been said?

! The location is amazing, not too far from the town of Holyhead for shops/supplies, we got a Tesco delivery for the evening we arrived. The barn itself, is set right on the coastline surrounded by open fields, sea and mountain views, it really is breathtaking. South Stack Lighthouse and RSPB centre are literally at the end of the lane the barn is set on. The place itself is so welcoming, tea, coffee, milk, wine and cake left for our arrival were much appreciated! Sam, the owner, is just lovely, very warm and friendly, she’s done an amazing job converting the barn into a open, modern, yet cosy space. Underfloor heating throughout, comfortable beds, an en-suite to each bedroom, large comfy sofa and a kitchen with so much kit that it made cooking a very easy experience - we wanted for nothing. The hot tub of an evening was welcome after a day running around with the kids! I’d thoroughly recommend staying here, accommodation, setting and owner really are second to none…

The house was a need of a little TLC.

We did have an amazing stay though and the house was very clean. The tiles in the en suite bathroom were loose and require refitting/grout required on many.. the toilet flush refill appears to be attached to the hot water. But the bathroom had everyone needed, nice bath! In the lounge on two occasions I nearly tripped on the fire up-stand, maybe place a planter on there? In the garden it was nice to have flags and grass. There is one flag I felt was a little dangerous the one between the shower and the hot tub it is loose and the pergola frame leg is standing on this one. Also where the grass ends and the flags start to the steps that is a trip hazard. The knifes in the block were not great other than the bread knife and could do with replacing. Would be nice to have a king bed, but I appreciate the rooms a quite restrictive so you may not be able to fit one in. It felt like a home, and the hot tub was amazing. Would definitely book again
