Hoot House is a comfortable and cosy property situated in wonderful surroundings in the Snowdonia National Park. Located a short drive from Tywyn, Aberdyfi and Fairbourne, this property is the perfect place to stay when looking to explore all the area has to offer. Cook yourselves a hearty meal in the well equipped kitchen and after sitting down to enjoy this with your family why not challenge each other to a game of chess or even table football. There is a great local pub less than half a mile (5-minutes walk) from the property.
Wander down to the Talyllyn Railway Station situated in Abergynolwyn and take the heritage steam trains in to Tywyn. From here you could take a walk on the beach, and on a nice day, tides and energy permitting, can even walk the 4 or so miles from Tywyn Beach to Aberdyfi Beach. Afterwards, treat yourself to a spot of lunch and then get the train back to Tywyn. Alternatively, Hoot House offers a great location for a number of other walks. There is the Quarryman’s Trail which visits the old mine of Bryn Eglwys slate quarry and boasts expansive views. Also you can walk to Dolgoch Falls right from the doorstep, just over 2½ miles away. If you fancy a real challenge, why not head over to Cadair Idris.
After all of this exploring come back to Hoot House and relax for the evening. Put your feet up and watching a film on the impressive TV, or sit in the conservatory taking in the surroundings, with the underfloor heating to keep you warm. Beach 8 miles. Shop 7½ miles, pub and restaurant ¼ mile.

We highly recommend Hoot House. The house is well equipped, a space for everyone, the owners are lovely and keep you up to date with what’s on locally during your stay and the little extras are very welcomed upon arrival. The location is perfect for walkers, couples or families. There is a small park within a 2 minute walk, there’s a fantastic local pub right next to the park which serves lovely food.. The English breakfast served in the cafe across the road was superb and definitely worth trying. The beach is a 15 minute drive to Tywyn where you’ll find shops, cafes, pubs and The Magic Lantern cinema which is another highlight. This house is in a perfect setting for us, with things to do and places to visit within 30 minutes drive. It has the beaches close by and the peace and tranquility to really unwind and relax within the mountains. My favourite part of the house is sitting in the conservatory or the garden with a glass of wine listening to the birds with a view of the mountains. Bliss! This house is perfect no matter what the weather! 5 stars all the way *****

Stunning holiday in such beautiful location. Rolling hillside overlooking the back garden. Secluded waterfalls just across the road. Wonderfull walks to take and a gorgeous local country pub. The ultimate peace and quiet. What a delightful find.

Fantastic place has everything you could need., any problems (not that there was) owners available if needed. Cottage in superb surroundings. Very friendly village, great pub with great food and community cafe which was very nice.If you need shopping you can order in but otherwise be prepared for a car journey but we didn’t find that a problem.We would highly recommend Hoot House.
