About this property

This two-storey end-terrace cottage is situated within the small village of Rachub, near Bethesda. It is perfectly located for exploring Snowdonia or visiting Penrhyn Slate Quarry for an exciting ZipWorld adventure, which features the fastest zip line in the world. There are also beautiful countryside rambles from your doorstep and nearby bike trails for all skill levels. The village offers a well-stocked small shop and a local pub, and a larger selection of amenities a mile away in Bethesda. A renovated retreat with exposed beams and stonework, Charlies Cottage is charming and full of character, somewhere cosy to unwind all-season-round. The country-style kitchen hosts all of the necessary appliances you may need throughout your stay, and tiled flooring follows the layout round. For those relaxing nights in, the lounge awaits with its electric woodburner-effect fire and comfy seating, becoming your own little place to snuggle up after the sun goes down. The first floor is equally as impressive, hosting two bedrooms; a double with views of the garden, and a bunk room, each neutrally designed with a calming feel throughout. Complimenting the interior is an all-white shower room, so you can get ready in style every day before and after all your sightseeing and outdoor activities. When you are not relaxing indoors, enjoy the small garden to the rear, for an opportunity to truly take in the delightful, quiet location. Visitors to the area can also explore the castles of Caernarfon, Beaumaris and Conwy, and the National Trust stately homes of Penrhyn Castle and Plas Newydd Country House and Gardens. Spend the afternoon at one of the many traditional seaside resorts, or discover the isolated, hidden beaches on Anglesey, much of which is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. With spectacular scenery and wildlife on the doorstep, buzzards soaring overhead and the occasional Peregrine Falcon to be seen, and many exciting outdoor adventures to discover nearby, this is a precious haven for four.

Bethesda rests beside the River Ogwen in North Wales. Situated on the A5 between Bangor and the Snowdonia National Park, Bethesda was once a busy slate quarrying town and nowadays offers a good selection of shops and other amenities, in particular a number of chapels and pubs. The mountainous scenery of Snowdonia borders Bethesda, with the Lôn Las Ogwen cycling and walking paths beyond. For the more adventurous, why not visit Zip World in Bethesda which is known for having Europe’s fastest and longest zip line.
