About this property

About this Cottage

Nestled within the Snowdonia National Park, and with spectacular views of its famous mountain range, Coed Mawr cottage is perfectly placed for you to enjoy everything this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty has to offer. This delightful stone holiday cottage is set in glorious seclusion down a narrow road with no other buildings in sight, yet lies within 1½ miles of Betws-y-Coed, North Wales’ most popular inland resort. Coed Mawr is a spacious and traditional three-bedroomed Welsh cottage offering cosy and welcoming accommodation that has been lovingly restored to make a memorable and comfortable stay.

If you’re looking for high-adrenalin adventure then some of the UK’s best attractions are within easy reach. Fly through forests across dramatic scenery at Zip World, zip-line through caverns, scale a waterfall or abseil to the deepest point in the UK at Go Below, ride the waves on the world’s first inland 300 surf lagoon at Surf Snowdonia or visit the National White-Water Rafting centre to shoot the rapids. For those who prefer their challenges on dry land, there are a variety of mountain climbs, scrambles, walks and bike rides to suit all levels of fitness and expertise. Mountain bikes are available for use (free of charge) at the cottage so you can take the Marin Trail through the Gwydyr Forest from your doorstep. But if you want to explore the countryside at a more leisurely pace, why not go pony-trekking through the woods, canoe down the river or stroll around the many lakes. Explore nearby places of interest, gardens and ancient castles, or journey back in time on a steam railway. If all this sounds far too exhausting, then spend a day browsing through art galleries, view craftsmen at work in the woollen mills, enjoy the local cuisine, pamper yourself at a local spa or simply spend a day at the beach. At the end of a full day of activity, Coed Mawr will be waiting for you. You can relax and enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the cottage surroundings, sit outside with a mug or glass of your favourite tipple and watch the sun set over the mountains, or curl up in front of a roaring log fire and plan tomorrow’s next adventure. Golf and horse riding available nearby. Shops 1½ miles.
