Upon entering you will arrive at an open plan sitting room, home to an electric fire, and a comfortable sofa, where you can rest in the evening and listen to the stereo or watch TV. Across the way, a dining table is located next to French doors which look out over the Elan Valley. The well-equipped kitchen provides you with all the amenities you will need during your stay. Penmaes Cottage has two comfortable bedrooms, a double and single, with delightful views of the valley. A shower room completes the accommodation. When the weather is pleasant, you can sit outside on the bench under the sunshine with a refreshing drink of your choice. Rhayader is certainly worth your time with its selection of tea rooms, boutiques, and restaurants in easy reach. The Elan Valley offers a variety of walks and cycle trails as well as a visitor’s centre with café and a children's play area. Explore Builth Wells, where the Spring Festival, Royal Welsh Agricultural Show and Winter Fair are all held annually. There is plenty to see in and around this wonderful holiday location.

Rhayader is a market town, home to tea rooms, pubs, restaurants, amenities and boutiques. There is also a leisure centre with a swimming pool and a weekly market. Rhayader is the first town on the River Wye and is a base for the dams and reservoirs of the Elan and Claerwen Valleys.
