Originally a public house, this property offers guest comfortable accommodation while retaining the charm of the country inn. The property includes an enclosed garden and full use of a private hot tub. Montgomery Castle is literally a short walk away. The Offa’s Dyke National Trail runs close to the town, providing a good excuse to get your boots on and head off for a walk, with vineyards and home-made ice cream suppliers nearby.
Guests are also very close to the National Trust properties Powys Castle, Chirk Castle, Erddig and Attingham Park. The Welshpool to Llanfair steam railway, Montgomery Canal and Lake Vyrnwy are all local and well worth a visit. Quad biking, paintballing and horse riding are all available locally, and watersports can be found at Bala Lake and in Llangollen, a 40-minute drive. Historic Shrewsbury is a 30-minute drive away, while within easy driving distance there is also Welshpool and Newtown all of which host a wide range of bars, shops and restaurants, and the west Wales coastline is approximately an hour’s drive away.

We had a lovely family holiday for 5 the cottage is well equipped with every thing you need hot tub was lovely the snug was great for my son who has autism so he could have some time on his own dart board and pool table was a great hit for the boys the bedrooms were lovely beds very comfortable even the dogs had a great holiday and nice and quiet area local people were very friendly especially the lady in the past office will definitely be back

A very spacious accommodation that is perfect for large groups. Not only is there 4 excellent sized bedrooms but there are plenty of spaces downstairs for people to spread out and enjoy some peace and quiet but also come together to eat, play games and make memories. The garden is excellent too with space for a dog, some play equipment and a 4 person hot tub. The village is wonderful with great amenities. The Spa stocks all your essential groceries whilst the Castle Kitchen will fill your tummy and the Dragon Hotel hosts a bustling Happy Hour. Plus there is a Take Away and a cafe with a Post Office. The must see shop is Bunners. This Aladdins cave is like Arkwrights Store and more! The climb to the castle and monument is well worth the exertion! Nearby there is plenty to see and do. We visited the Sculpture Park nr Oswestry and Shrewsbury with a tour of the Prison.Loved staying at The Cottage and in Montgomery. Thank you

We visited the cottege in may 2025 family of 8 everyone from grandma to grandchildren the amenities was great kept everyone busy the bedrooms was beautiful the kitchen massive and the lounge with the bar was great didn't need to go anywhere .thankyou mark we loved it
