Lovely lodge but access is difficult with some very steep hills up and down whilst on single track lanes. Hot tub was lovely although the first night the water was a little cloudy. There was a lot of rules and threats of fines if you didn’t recycle properly and if the hot tub ended up with solids in the water. This was quite uneasing given it was supposed to be a relaxing break.In all the years we’ve been using lodges for get always we’ve never felt so uneasy about the prospect of getting fined for our waste or using a hot tub. Not have we ever been greeted with a rule book like school children.Based on that alone we wouldn’t return or recommend the place.There was also a lot of flies around. We expect some wildlife but this was a lot.The en suite in the master is not really an en-suite. It’s more of a cupboard with a toilet and an obscure bath with shower but no room to stand to shower.Also be prepared to travel if you want to do anything at all.Finally, as the lead on the booking the keys should have been given to me. Yet other members of the party arrived before me and they were given the keys. Not sure how the owners knew they were in my party. So I wasn’t particularly impressed with that.

Very good lodge, but it would have been better to have a BBQ as it was not allowed!
