About this property

This spacious Victorian property is located close to the centre of Hay on Wye a charming market town that boasts a number of independent bookshops, boutiques, pubs and cafes. It's ideal for an unforgettable group holiday.

Dating back to the 1890s, this Victorian property is located just 500 metres from Hay on Wye town centre which has an olde worlde atmosphere. It boasts a fantastic antique market and a farmers market each Thursday where you can shop around for a variety of local produce. Active visitors can explore The Black Mountains or the Hay Bluff which can be accessed straight from the property and there is local mountain bike hire too if you prefer your adventures on two wheels. For a dose of culture, why not visit Hay Castle which has been recently restored. For stunning views, it s worth taking the car a little further (22 miles) to Brecon Beacons National Park, famed for its beautiful scenery and gorgeous walks. As you enter this property through the little entrance porch, you will discover an original quarry tiled floor and a handy space where you can leave your muddy hiking boots and shoes. There are two separate lounge areas which make the property ideal for large families and friends holidaying together. The first lounge has been decorated in warm tones with comfortable leather sofas and an original fireplace. Here you will find a TV with a DVD player to keep the family entertained during the evenings. The second smaller lounge space has a wonderful tiled floor, plus a sofa and chair where you can sit back and unwind. The kitchen is spacious and has everything you would need for a self catering holiday: electric range cooker, large fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and a kitchen table with chairs. There is a separate dining room should you wish to gather together for a hearty breakfast to start the day or a sociable evening meal. The four bedrooms are located upstairs: a master king size bedroom, one double room, and one room with twin beds which can be made into a super king size bed on request. The top floor attic room is accessed via a narrow set of steps and has twin beds; from here, you will find the most spectacular views across the Wye Valley. There is a toilet on the ground floor, and a family bathroom and separate shower room on the first floor; the family bathroom is lucky enough to have a bath and waterfall shower a wonderful treat after a long day s hiking. The large enclosed garden has plenty of lawn space where you can sit and relax on one of the two picnic benches or enjoy a chilled glass of wine on the little patio which overlooks the whole garden. This outside space with BBQ is a nice, safe area for families and gives you al fresco dining opportunity during the warmer months. There is plenty of parking space here too.
