A myriad of picturesque walks branch away from the property, including to the village of Llanfihangel Talyllyn (1 mile), where you’ll find a cosy pub and village store. Nearby day trips include the literary town of Hay-on-Wye (15 miles) and the bustling market town of Brecon (6 miles).

The former cattle shed sits on a working farm and is full of character, with original features carefully combined with contemporary design. Inside, a large entrance hall leads to the open-plan kitchen/diner. This sociable space has a dining table to seat everyone and all the equipment needed to whip up delicious feasts. Journey to Hay-on-Wye to peruse its wonderful collection of book shops (there are over 20 in the town!). You’ll also find a great range of independent eateries, along with cute boutiques and galleries. After a wander around the town, head down to The Warren for a picnic on the banks of the River Wye or, if you’re feeling brave, a spot of wild swimming. Llangorse Lake is just 4 miles from the property and offers beautiful waterside walks, as well as the opportunity to hire canoes, kayaks, and paddleboards to get out on the water.
