The villages of Llangadfan (1 mile), with a hotel restaurant, and Llanerfyl, home to a shop, (2.5 miles) are nearby. Head to Llanfair Caereinion (8 miles) for a ride down the valley on a steam train on the Welshpool–Llanfair Caereinion Light Railway and go fishing at Lake Vyrnwy (9 miles).
