    Narberth Holiday Cottages

Narberth is a town in Pembrokeshire founded around a Welsh court that became a Norman stronghold. Narberth has gained a reputation as a popular destination for shoppers. Its high street is packed with art galleries, antique emporiums, independent boutiques and fine food delis. There are plenty of bars to frequent and restaurants to enjoy, many of which are award-winning. The town developed around the walls of Narberth Castle and holds an incredible heritage. Represented in the Celtic legend of Mabinogion, this ancient Welsh town was featured in folk tales dating as far back as the 14th century.

A colourful and vibrant market town, book a Narberth holiday stay in one of the rainbow-hued Edwardian and Georgian buildings lining the streets. We also have romantic stone cottages perfect for a couple’s retreat or opt for a gorgeous open-plan barn stay for the whole family. Can’t leave Fido at home? With our dog-friendly accommodation options, you won’t have to.

What our customers say about their holidays

    • Ray - Verified booking

The location of the property is perfect for exploring the area, with a good choice of beaches, forest and coastal walks, castles, adventure parks and nature reserves within easy reach.

The property itself has a large garden with goats, chickens , turkeys, peacocks and geese to make friends with. Also in the garden there are loungers, a slide and swings, a football pitch and more. Ideal for kids and adults to relax. Inside the house there are light and airy spaces to spread out and relax, but there are also some dark and rather cramped areas such as the dining room. Space to walk around is also tight in the kitchen where there is an Aga that is constantly putting out heat which can be a bit overwhelming in summer. As the one who did most of the washing up during our stay (other than that which went in the dish washer), I could have done with a drainer beside the sinks in the kitchen. More shelf space would have been welcome in bathrooms, too. The owners were easy to contact and swift to respond to queries and snags. All-in-all, we found the Woodlands a charming place to stay. There was not a corner in the house that didn't have some objet d'art or interesting item of bric-a-brac to catch your eye. Much of this looks precious and fragile, so it may be vulnerable if young guests get over excited. I hope this helps to prepare potential guests for what they will find if they choose to stay at The Woodlands Lower Level. All I can say is that we liked it.

Host was very welcoming, it is rare these days to get an in person greeting to hand over the key! The lemon cake was a welcome treat and delicious. Thank you. Some poetic license taken in the listing, the 'sun room' is a small lean to connecting the back door to the downstairs toilet! Decor is very dated, some evidence of fresh painting but other areas could benefit from a refresh. If you are looking for a boutique experience this is not for you! But the beds and pillows were very comfortable, lots of towels provided, nice hot shower and all the expected facilities e.g. dishwasher etc. Could benefit from a few upgrades e.g. more plugs, bigger fridge, new cooker (grill not the best), a smart TV, but all still usable. Restrictions to parking in front of house during the week but there is nearby off road parking affiliated to the house. Is on the main street/one way system but we didn't notice the noise/traffic when in doors. Some smashing shops in Narberth, house is a very short walk to the shops, highly recommend you try the pastries from the Rock 'n Dough bakery, and pies from Andrew Rees & Sons butchers. A lovely cafe 'Stopio' just a short walk away does some super breakfasts and cake.

We had a lovely stay in October and the peaceful setting was wonderful.

The hot tub was lovely but we had to erect a gazebo around it as it is very exposed and the breeze across the fields made it uncomfortable to use without some protection. The enclosed garden was ideal for our dogs and very spacious. The games room was a bonus but I think a bit more could be made of it - maybe by adding a dart board. The ability to recycle everything including food was most welcome. The furnishings were comfortable and tasteful and the kitchen diner a lovely space. The all the bedrooms and the upstairs bathrooms were lovely but I think the downstairs shower room could be made a little more comfortable. The only real negative was the total absence of hanging rails/wardrobes in 2 of the bedrooms resulting in us having to hang clothing from the curtain poles. Overall a lovely place to stay.

We were greeted with a warm welcome from owners Teresa, Pat and their wonderful dog Du.

An amazingly warm and cosy cottage was waiting for us to begin our holiday. A fully equipped kitchen, spacious dining/living room and three comfortable bedrooms, the double being an ensuite shower. A main big bathroom with a bath, seperate shower, toilet and a wash basin was more then adequate. The surroundings were very nice and quiet,  there is a road next to the property but the noise didn't affect our stay at all. Perfectly situated to access all the local attractions, Oakwood is just a Five minute drive away and Folly Farm Seven minutes. The local beaches and castles are also quite close by, Narberth town being the closest for shopping. We will be returning in the future and highly recommend this property. Thanks to Teresa, Pat and Du for making our stay so memorable.

      Had the best time here.

Three generations. The home and gardens are amazing. Kids were outside all the time we were there. House is beautiful. Very well looked after and every comfort you could think of. If you are staying and plan to eat in then i would recommend that you bring the basics with you. There is absolutely nothing there so bring salt, pepper, cooking oil. Tea bags, coffee, sugar and milk. It will save you from purchasing it all again. They do provide washing up liquid, washing clothes, tea towels and dishwasher tablets. Highly recommended and would 100% stay here again. Sue and family are very friendly and helpful. Couldn't help enough with any questions I had. Thank you so much
