Plenty of space to get the whole family together for Christmas, and well equipped with everything we needed. The communal rooms downstairs were beautifully decorated for the season and the wood fire was a lovely feature. The river out the back provides stunning scenery and the owners were very helpful. Would definitely book again!

On the whole we were comforatble and it provided most of what we needed. However there was no washing machine and as we were a family group with 8 children it would have been very useful to have one. I think the itinerary on the website could be improved. Also the fridge and freezer was not big enough for the number of us there. There was already items in the fridge and freezer when we arrived, in particular the freezer was full and no room for our own stuff. We had brought quite a bit as we were self-catering. We contacted the owners and they said for us to just clear it out. I transferred as much as I could to a fridge in one of the bedrooms but whether it would have been useable after a week I do not know. As we were leaving on the morning of our departure two ladies came to clean. I explained my concerns to them having already written a note. They said the property was not really used for self-catering but as a B&B for bikers and she did the cooking for them. She was not best pelased when I told her that I had moved the food as she was expecting guests that day and the food was for their breakfast the following morning. I think this position needs to be made cleared on the website for anyone else hoping to use it for self catering.
