"Wonderful location, excellent hosts and beautiful cottage"
    Sue ‐ 18 Oct 2019
"A lovely cosy cottage for a mid week break and meet up with family members, ideally located for this reason and to explore the area not visited before. Cottage had everything we needed & visited the time of year when it was cool enough to enjoy the warmth of the wood burner in the evening. Lovely hosts and enjoyed watching the wildlife in the garden and along the river. Eggs, honey, jams and chutneys available to buy from the farm. Cider from the nearby Cider Farm. Castles to visit nearby Skenfrith and Goodrich. We had a lovely visit."

"A wonderfully peaceful location. Ideal for a romantic get away. Beautiful grounds to stroll around. A comfortable, warm and cosy cottage."

"A lovely little cottage, perfect for the two of us for a weekend. The location is wonderful, and the owner wonderfully open about allowing guests to wonder the garden and the river, such a beautiful garden! All the inside rooms a nicely decorated, and very comfortable - no criticisms at all. A sign by the little barrow selling honey would have been nice though, took us far too long to find the place - primarily our incompetence admittedly! All in all a stunning little place, in a wonderful secluded location in the heart of the beautiful Welsh countryside - the perfect retreat - just wish we could have stayed longer"

"Kind, helpful and discrete owners. New building. But future guests must be aware to the fact that the cottage is clearly too small for four adults (no storage closet in the twin bedroom, access to shower cubicle difficult if you are a bit oversize for example...). Probably excellent for two to three people and for a short stay: no local amenities to the exception of a pub in Skenfrith, must drive long way to buy groceries, for example (Monmouth, Ross, Abergavenny...). Nevertheless, Skenfrith is well situated on the map (Wye Valley, Brecon Beacons, Cadw properties, Hay on Wye...) Overall cleanliness a bit disappointing. Also disappointed by the fact that some of the features proposed on the website were absent (Freeview TV performs badly, intermittent Wifi, TV in main bedroom not working, DVD player only in bedroom, mould smell in washing machine and, unfortunately for us, a defective dishwasher (oddly situated in the barn below): this was discussed with owners. For the rest, very quiet and peaceful surroundings."

"Lovely grounds. Like everyone said in all the other reviews very nice owners felt at ease with them."

"A place to get away from it all and relax. Very enjoyable holiday and Kev and Trish are warm and friendly, happy to help and full of Local knowledge. The Beach area was fun and the sound of the river was lovely making it a very tranquil spot"

"Great location and friendly, helpful owners"

"The cottage had much to recommend it, in an ideal location for seeing the Forest of Dean with many good places to eat nearby. Skenfrith was a lovely village with a great pub.The river in the grounds was wonderful, hosts friendly and the cottage stylishly furnished with nice furniture and fairly well equipped. It was a little cramped for 4 ( there were 3 of us ) and we struggled with the one wardrobe for everyone and lack of bedroom furniture. The cottage was warm throughout. What let it down badly was the cleanliness overall. Dirty shower and mirrors, fridge and oven not cleaned from previous guests and cobwebs in all the rooms. Frankly could do with a thorough clean throughout especially behind and under the beds."

"Perfect location for walking and investigating local area. Castles and villages. Lovely green hills and valleys. Property located next to river."
    Shona ‐ 27 Jan 2019
"We enjoyed our holiday here very much. Cottage clean and very welcoming. The owners were very friendly and although living next door we didn't see them apart from on arrival. Location is good and easy for shops. Would recommend to anyone."

"Nice place and people, very enjoyable."
    Karen ‐ 4 Dec 2018
"A very beautiful place with fantastic view best we have stayed at"
    Andrew ‐ 3 Nov 2018
"The cottage itself and the grounds are delightful. The local environment is stunningly beautiful. Great walks from door. Our low rating for local amenities is because of the service and attitude at the Bell Inn simply awful- not the cottages fault. Similarly the Garway Moon refused to serve us lunch "because they were busy"... only us and two other people in there. If we had planned to eat out locally we would have been disappointed. Again the cottage wonderful and we really appreciated the welcome pack!"
