The Old Chapel in Abergavenny receives glowing praise for its immaculate presentation, cosy atmosphere, and peaceful village setting. Guests consistently highlight the property’s cleanliness, well-equipped kitchen, and thoughtful touches from the hosts. The cottage is described as a perfect base for exploring the local countryside, castles, and nearby towns, with a welcoming local pub just a short walk away. While a few minor issues such as TV reception in bad weather, low water pressure, and garden fencing for dogs are mentioned, the overall experience is overwhelmingly positive, making it an ideal choice for a relaxing getaway.
Cleanliness is repeatedly praised, with guests describing the property as spotless, immaculately kept, and beautifully presented. No significant negative comments were found regarding cleanliness.
The location is highly regarded for its tranquillity, scenic surroundings, and proximity to local attractions, walks, and a friendly village pub. Some guests note narrow roads and the property being a little tricky to find, but these do not detract from the overall positive impression.
Guests find the cottage extremely comfortable, cosy, and homely, with special mention of the beds, log burner, and peaceful setting. One guest mentioned the double bed being a bit small for two adults, but this was a rare comment.
The property is described as very well equipped, with a modern kitchen, good WiFi, and thoughtful amenities. Minor issues such as TV reception during rain, low water pressure, and suggestions for hooks or garden fencing for dogs were noted, but did not significantly impact overall satisfaction.
Guests frequently mention welcome gifts such as cake, Prosecco, chocolates, and milk, which are greatly appreciated and add to the experience. Please note that while many guests received these thoughtful touches, they are not guaranteed for every stay.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐We absolutely loved our stay at The Old Chapel and will 100% be coming back!It was such a brilliant location for getting out and exploring, but we also genuinely loved just spending time at the property. It had absolutely everything we could have needed and you could really tell that so much thought had gone into all the little details. One of the biggest things for us was the garden. Having somewhere completely secure meant Luna could just wander around, have a good sniff and explore while we could actually relax without constantly worrying about where she was going! The little gifts that had been left for us were such a lovely surprise as well. Completely unexpected, but such a thoughtful touch and something that made the stay feel that little bit more special. We did have one small issue with the bath, but we contacted the owner and they were on hand straight away to help us. You really couldn’t ask for more than that.We honestly had such a lovely time and I really can’t recommend The Old Chapel enough. It felt like everything had been thought of to make the stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.A massive thank you for having us. We’ll definitely be back! ❤️
