Guests say

The Old Chapel in Abergavenny receives glowing praise for its immaculate cleanliness, cosy and comfortable atmosphere, and peaceful countryside location. Guests consistently highlight the well-equipped facilities, thoughtful touches from the owners, and the charming village setting with easy access to local walks, castles, and a friendly pub. While a few minor suggestions are made regarding TV reception in bad weather and garden fencing for dogs, the overall experience is overwhelmingly positive, making it a highly recommended retreat for couples, small families, and dog owners seeking a relaxing getaway.

Cleanliness is repeatedly described as outstanding, with numerous guests noting the property was spotless, immaculately kept, and beautifully presented upon arrival. No significant negative comments were made regarding cleanliness.

The location is widely praised for its tranquillity, scenic countryside, and proximity to local attractions such as castles, walks, and a welcoming village pub. A few guests mention narrow roads and the property being a little tricky to find, but these are minor compared to the overall positive feedback.

Guests consistently mention the cottage's comfort, with cosy beds, a relaxing atmosphere, and a homely feel. Only one review notes the standard double bed as a bit small for two adults, but this is outweighed by the many positive comments.

The property is described as very well-equipped, with everything needed for a comfortable stay, including a log burner, kitchen appliances, and thoughtful extras. Minor issues such as low water pressure and TV reception in rain are mentioned but do not detract significantly from the overall satisfaction.

Many guests appreciate the thoughtful touches such as welcome packs, cake, Prosecco, chocolates, and milk in the fridge. While these gifts are frequently mentioned, it should be noted that such extras are not guaranteed for every stay.

This property is amazing. It was spotless and had everything could want for you stay, including bubbles and chocolates in each bedroom, and delicious lemon cake was in the kitchen, which was lovely with a cup of tea. There was milk and bottled water in the fridge. The property is in a lovely little village which also has a lovely pub and castle ruins to go and explore. This is one of the best properties we have ever stayed in. We will be going back again in the future.
