About this property

What a fantastic holiday cottage! St Agnes stands in the most gorgeous location where every room enjoys breathtaking views along the coastline and across the bay to Cnicht, ‘the Welsh Matterhorn'. So much care and thought has gone into the refurbishment of this delightful terraced house.

The bright and contemporary open plan living area has the most stunning view. The original floorboards, combined with modern furnishings, and an electric wood burning-effect stove, make this is comfortable and and cosy space.

The dining table and chairs are positioned to soak up the amazing view, and there's comfy seating and a TV around the fireplace. There is a stunning Juliet balcony where you can sit and soak up these lovely sea views.

The kitchen is equipped with a four-ring hob, oven, fridge with ice compartment, slimline dishwasher, washing machine and microwave.

The bedrooms are all on different levels of the house. They can all be made up with king size or twin single beds. The top bedroom has original stripped floors and ceilings. There is a fantastic walk-in shower and a carefully hidden loo and wash hand basin. The middle bedroom has a freestanding roll top bath which takes centre stage so you can lie back and soak up the view! The loo and basin are discreetly tucked away.

Also downstairs is another small kitchen close to the garden, with electric oven and hob and microwave - ideal for a couple of extra guests, teenagers or friends.

The small garden with table and chairs overlooks the bay and is accessed by descending the stairs. There is a low stone wall enclosing the garden. The position of the house is perfect for photographers, bird watchers and artists as it has one of the best views of Wales.

A short walk takes you to a delightful sandy cove, known locally by some as ‘Sian's Cove' (Sian owns St Agnes!). Borth Y Guest has a good restaurant and a lovely cafe on the front. A short drive, or a longer walk, brings you to Porthmadog, which has interesting shops and galleries, and restaurants - try Yr Hen Fecws or The Ship. You can ride on the Welsh Highland and Ffestiniog Railways, or venture into the mountains of Snowdonia. Bringing paddle boarding and sailing right to your doorstep. The costal path is on the door step and there are three golf links close by. This is an Ideal location for Fishing enthusiasts.

Whether it is early morning, or the end of a busy day, it is so relaxing to watch the ebb and flow of the tide in this pretty half moon bay.

This property may not be suitable for those with mobility issues, as the stairs are steep and over four floors.

Please note that the loos are Saniflow. Specific instructions will be left in the house where appropriate. The double basement bedroom is accessed through the bedroom with the roll top bath. Unless requested, all beds will be made up as kings sized.

The beds will be made made up as advertised, if you would like a different bed configuration please contact Menai Holidays 7 days before your arrival.

Borth y Gest is a quiet Welsh seaside village of mainly Victorian houses retaining much charm and character. Located by the mouth of the River Glaslyn, and a short drive away from the Italian styled village of Portmeirion, this pretty Welsh village has stunning panoramic views over the sands and estuary to the historic Harlech Castle and the Snowdonia National Park beyond. This North Wales village has two bistros and a coffee lounge all located on the front overlooking the bay and all with dog-friendly outdoor seating areas; perfect places to while away the hours watching the comings and goings of the local boatmen. Borth y Gest, with its sheltered coves and sandy beaches, has walking in abundance; why not head up Moel-y-Gest or take a wander over the headland to the famous Black Rock Sands, or go a little further afield where the vast Snowdonia National Park awaits? For a day out you can take a trip on the famous Ffestiniog Steam Railway and Welsh Highland Railway from Porthmadog, only a 15 minutes' walk away, or for those with younger children why not visit the shorter but more child-focussed Welsh Highland Heritage Railway? For a day trip the entire Llyn Peninsula calls. With Anglesey within reach and the whole North Wales coast with the Wales Coast Path to be explored, Borth y Gest has it all: a quiet bolt hole but conveniently located for ease of access to this stunning area, a must at any time of the year.

The location is stunning and the house is quirky, and I say that in a good way. We brought quite a lot of items with us (just in case) which we didn't need as the house comes very well equipped. The house is tall and thin and occupies 4 floors, but is very cosy. The kitchen is a little tight but the house has a certain charm which we enjoyed very much. We would definitely stay again.

Perfect location and it’s not just the wow view! We didn’t need to use the car as there was a good variety of walks and things to do within the immediate vicinity. Very homely feel to the house. Good Wi-Fi. Just a few cons that could be easily fixed: Shower valve in top bedroom is leaking so loss of pressure results in cold water. Mattresses in all rooms are poor (this is not just a matter of preference)

The beds and bedrooms are large and comfortable My only criticism is the lack of food storage and preparation space. There is one cupboard which is above the built-in oven, unless you're 6ft or over quite inaccessible so where are you to store breakfast cereals, tea, coffee, jam, marmalade, bread etc? the only place I came up with was on the hob! The only worktop is about 60cm x 60cm and houses the kettle and toaster leaving you with an area on around 30cm x 60cm to do any preparation - I'd suggest a double kitchen base unit with worktop put in the alcove on the opposite wall - not ideal but better than nothing and it would make good use of an unused wall Sorry for the criticism St Agnes is so nearly really wonderful just needs a way to make the kitchen work
