About this property

This inviting, detached property sits in the harbour town of Porthmadog, amidst the scenic county of Gwynedd. Set over two floors, Bryn Tudur offers a traditional base for families and friends eager to explore North Wales. After parking in the spacious driveway spaces, unload your baggage into the hallway and get to know your new holiday home. Venture into the kitchen, laid out with all the necessary appliances to whip up a hearty feast, including a handy washing machine so there’s no need to pack your whole wardrobe! Make use of the separate dining room for mealtimes, complemented with a bottle of fizz as you plan where to visit next. Step into the lounge, where you can make yourself comfortable upon the sofa and gently relax amidst the warmth of the gas fire. Carry the conversation outdoors and soak in the last of the evening sunshine in the peaceful setting of the patio, before heading upstairs and getting ready for bed. A double and twin are on offer, each with good storage space and TVs so you can continue a film to bed. Completing the interior of Bryn Tudur is the shower room, complete with walk-in shower, basin and WC. Stroll into the centre of Porthmadog where you can expect to find a great choice of shops and eateries on offer; treat yourself to a spot of retail therapy before finding a local pub and enjoying a delicious bite to eat alongside a crisp pint. Well-stocked convenience stores and supermarkets can easily be found so sourcing the ingredients for home-cooking couldn’t be easier. Take a relaxing wander along the picturesque harbour, where you can uncover the exhibits on offer in the Maritime Museum or hop onboard the much-loved Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railway, taking you on a journey over 14-miles of superb scenery. Visit the Italian village of Portmeirion, whilst avid golfers will be well-catered for at the excellent Porthmadog Golf Club. Alternatively, enjoy a day at the beach with Borth Y Gest or Morfa Bychan nearby, lounging on the sands and maybe even taking a dip in the sea! Bryn Tudur promises a fantastic break to North Wales, whatever time of year.

Porthmadog, a bustling harbour town on the Glaslyn Estuary, has a wonderful environment. Porthmadog is the gateway to the Snowdonia National Park and home to the Ffestiniog Railway and the Welsh Highland Railway, both of which offer steam travel through stunning Snowdonia landscape to Blaenau Ffestiniog and Caerforn. Borth Y Gest, a charming village with cliffs and bays, is a short walk or drive from the town.

Well situated close to a good variety of supermarkets and the town centre a short walk away. Everything you could need in the kitchen, we didn't struggle with lack of equipment. Has dish washer and washing machine eventhough we didn't need these. Good sized fridge/freezer. Comfy beds and and lovely shower. Would definitely go back there.

It needs some up-dating to the decor, and perhaps a piano in a small dining room is not the best use of limited space. The washing machine leaked, the double matress is beyond its useful life and the Venitian blind fell off the wall the first time we tried to use it.. We hired for 2 weeks and we were very disappointed when our bed linen and towels were not changed after our first week. Nevertheless none of these things interfered too much with our stay. A modest welcome pack would have been nice, and Can we make a special plea to remove the glass shelf above the bathroom sink. It is a hazard and we regularly banged our heads on it.

The tv remote in the lounge had batteries that had leaked in it so would not work. Light in lounge flickers which left me with migraine’s. Toilet seat lose on one side fitting, needs looking at. Difficult reversing onto the drive due to the large bush overhanging the drive making it narrow. Needs up to date information on rubbish collection, main waste dustbin was full when we arrived, put both types out as last years schedule was unhelpful only recycling and food collected. Location good for food shopping and getting to visit places.
