Wonderfully positioned to make the most of the region’s beautiful beaches, castles and mountains, this comfortable detached cottage, sits in the grounds of the owners’ smallholding, enjoying panoramic views over the surrounding countryside on the fringes of the Snowdonia National Park. It’s just a short drive from an award winning blue flag beach, whilst Caernarfon with its superb castle is three miles and offers a fine selection of shops, pubs and restaurants. The Welsh highland narrow gauge railway passes close by and makes for a memorable trip into the mountains of Snowdonia, an enormous range of exciting activities and attractions lie close by including Zip World, the longest zip wire in the world. Walking, golf and horse riding can all be enjoyed nearby.

Hen Weithdy is great country style retreat. Glen and Ann are really friendly and in our case, helpful. As gas oriented, we struggled with the electric hob but Glen popped in to give us the required assistance. The cottage is very well equipped and really comfy. We loved the solitude and felt extremely safe there, the cottage itself being behind a gate and along a drive/lane. I`d advise taking enough food for a day or so as the nearest shop we found was a short distance away. (Morrisons Extra). The cottage itself has two floors with the main bedroom with double bed is on the ground floor, (ideal for us because of my wife's condition), with the second bedroom, (two single beds) upstairs. Ideal for children as it has it`s own TV and an Xbox with loads of games. There are horses that are sometimes in the large paddock, but may be in an adjacent field. Our dog had full use of the large paddock on our stay. There is a fully enclosed patio with table and chairs when the weather is fine. The cottage itself is an ideal place if you want to relax, it`s really quiet but Caernarfon is only about three miles away whilst Port Maddog is about 15 miles away. All within easy reach are to be found the Welsh narrow gauge railways, beaches, walks, Snowdon with it`s own steam railway. Did I mention Castles? As many as you could wish for.I/we fully recommend Hen Weithdy and would be certain to stay here again when in the area.

Had a fab holiday, the cottage was perfect and well equipped. The kids loved the horses in the paddock and the owners were very welcoming. Would definitely recommend !

Beautiful cottage. In a lovely village. Worth a walk around. Helpful hosts. Comfy little cottage. My pre teen boys loved having the upstairs to them selves. Its had everything we needed. Our first time to north wales. We found it a great base as its in the middle, with easy access to where we wanted to go. Would highly recommend and would go again.
