Penygroes is a wonderful quiet community roughly six miles from Caernarfon, bordering the Snowdonia National Park with beautiful scenic treks and mountain vistas. The village has many stores, cafes, and bars, while the surrounding area has many restaurants and sports such as golf, swimming, tennis, surfing, and horse riding. Nearby Plas Dinas Country House has tremendous history and The Gun Room restaurant. Anglesey and the Llyn Peninsula beaches are around a 30-minute drive away, whereas Dinas Dinlle is only a 10-minute drive. Caernarfon Castle is nearby, as are shops, cafes, and steam train rides. Portmeirion, from ‘The Prisoner', is also nearby. The Welsh Heritage Centre features a licenced cafe near Nant Nwrtheyrn with spectacular coastal views.
