Home to quaint Tudor style buildings and a scattering of welcoming pubs and local shops and boutiques, this lovely settlement has everything you need to enjoy a wonderful stay in Hampshire. One of the village's famous residents is Alice Pleasance Liddell, the inspiration behind Lewis Carroll's 'Alice's Adventures in Wonderland', resting in the graveyard of St Michael and All Angels' Church. The cottage itself was lovely, clean and well maintained. A great base from which to visit the surrounding area. Anglesey especially was lovely. As per several of the other reviews, the garden/car park/drive (which was a lake for most of my stay) all need some work. The heating wasnât on when I arrived (13° in the cottage on arrival which combined with the rude nosey neighbour didnât amount to a warm welcome!) and Iâd have happily paid a bit more to have firewood and dishwasher tablets for the whole week.

Short drive to many interesting places, especially Llanberis for Snowdon and other coastal towns. Lovely very spacious cottage for a couple. It has all the amenities youâd expect, including TV apps and WiFi. Very modern and clean but cosy. We would highly recommend!
