About this property

Caernarfon 5.6 miles. Penygroes 3.6 miles. Tucked away in the quaint and rural village of Llandwrog, you will find this striking Welsh cottage, which is Grade II listed. The cottage has been extensively refurbished to a high standard. Set just a stone's throw away from the historical town of Caernarfon and within reaching distance of Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park and Pen Llŷn (Llŷn Peninsula), 3 Cae’r Llwyn offers the perfect base for a couple or a family of four who seek an unforgettable adventure in the north of Wales. As you step inside, be welcomed into the homely sitting room, beautifully appointed with a woodburning stove and plush seating area, where you can delight in many entertaining evenings with your loved ones. Continue through to the light and beautiful kitchen/diner and discover a sea of appliances and useful utensils, helping you to cook up a storm as you prepare a meal for all to enjoy at the dining table. The adjoining utility room provides a handy space to wash your clothes following an enthralling afternoon walk, before freshening up with a long soak in the bright and airy ground-floor bathroom. At the end of the night, retire yourself to the pretty and accessible ground-floor bedroom with king size bed. The steep staircase leads up to a quaint twin children’s bedroom exuding character from the exposed beams and sloping ceilings. This area is perfect for bike rides and hikers or those who want relaxing evening walks. There is a bike storage shed available at the back. Parc Glynllifon is only a short walk away, the Grade I listed historic gardens has a diverse collection of rare trees and plants. There is a lovely woodland walk along the river, a Welsh gifts and homeware shop, craft units and a small cafe. Situated less than a mile away is Dinas Dinlle beach, with a cafe and shop. Enjoy a drink in the cosy village pub, which is dog friendly and only a few minutes walk away. Just over 3 miles away, there is a large garden centre which includes a farm shop and restaurant. You can also head into nearby Penygroes (just over 3 miles away) and Caernarfon (just over 5 miles away) where you will find a good selection of cafes, pubs and stores stocking all of the essentials. Travel into the heart of Caernarfon, famed for its monumental Castle built by Edward 1, see the fascinating Inigo Jones Slate Works or scale the heights of Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) by foot or train, before spending another memorable day at Zip World, Gypsy Wood or Greenwood Forest Park. Portmeirion, the iconic and world famous Italianate Village, where the actor Patrick Mcgoohan starred in the 70s TV series The Prisoner is only a 25 minutes drive away. With all this to do and so much more, it's little wonder 3 Cae’r Llwyn is the ultimate choice for your next family holiday in Wales.

The picturesque village of Penygroes can be found nestled between the vast shores of the Welsh coast and the breath-taking landscapes of Snowdonia National Park, making this an excellent choice for any self-catering escape. Complimented by a number of charming cafés, pubs and handy stores, this village has all your needs covered! It really was a home away from home with everything you need to have a relaxing and easy stay. The hosts were absolutely lovely, welcoming and went out their way to accommodate us which was hugely appreciated. The cottage has been renovated beautifully, we was not at all disappointed. The location was perfect for what we was looking for from the hugley friendly and lovely village to the fantastic beach only a short walk away but also close to some really great places not too far away if you fancy seeing some local sights or day trips out. Thank you so much for having us and look forward to staying again

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The accomodation was spotless and well equipped with everything you could need. The Wi Fi was good and the heating system very effective with Hive controls. There is a lovely log burner in the living room with logs etc available. We didn't use it but would be lovely and cosy for winter months. We had no problem parking on the road outside the property. It was always kept clear for this cottage. Llandwrog is a lovely quiet village. There is a church and local pub. We didn't visit the pub but the guest book in the cottage gave good feedback. Dinas Dinlle Beach is a 20 minute easy walk. Great for dogs. There is also good parking there if you don't fancy the walk down. We know the area well as my mother grew up close by and lots of family around. We look forward to visiting again. I can recommend The Welsh Highland Railway which runs from Caernarfon to Porthmadog....not running when we stayed but will be open from Easter. Thank you for a lovely stay.

The attention to detail is first class . The way the cottage has been modernised has not taken away the fact that it is grade 2 listed. The welcome basket is thoughtfully filled with treats for whoever is arriving, inc dog treats. From the front door to the back it is beautiful. The village is a mile walk from the beach and the village pub is 2 mins walk . It's very peaceful, you will never want to leave. I shall certainly be back Thank you.
