About this property

Bethesda 3.2 miles, Bangor 4.5 miles. A stunning, detached, stone-built property with a large garden and ample amenities, Bronfa is an ideal getaway for a family or group of friends looking to explore Anglesey, Gwynedd and the surrounding coast, mountains and countryside. There is off-road parking for 3 cars, allowing you to unpack with ease into this lovely property. Flick on the kettle and grab a coffee before making a start on a heart-warming meal in the kitchen/diner, where there is an inglenook fireplace with wood burner to add ambiance as you enjoy cooking on the range cooker and using many available appliances. There is a second dining space in the living/dining room, as well as a second woodburning stove and a selection of leather sofas, where you can put your feet up and catch up on your favourite TV programmes on the Smart TV. Freshen up in the ground-floor shower room or enjoy a soak in the bath before retiring to one of the three well-presented double bedrooms. The garden is simply idyllic, with a large lawn space, several outside dining areas and sitting areas where you can relax with a glass of your favourite beverage. There are breath-taking mountain views looming beyond the trees, making it a must for an alfresco affair.

Bronfa is in a hamlet midway between the town of Bethesda and the City of Bangor, both of which house a selection of pubs, eateries and shops where you can stock up on essentials. Bangor has golf and tennis clubs and a pier which goes well out into the Menai Straits. More amenities can be found nearby, historic towns each with independent stores and their own castles, including Caernarfon, Conwy, Penrhyn and Beaumaris, ideal for a day exploring the local history and heritage. Visit Anglesey where there is a sea zoo, Pili Palas Nature World, a handful of museums and many stunning beaches and coastal walks, cycle routes and wildlife areas.

Bronfa is on the edge of the Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park, it is the ideal spot for hiking through breath-taking scenery, for example to Aber Falls and Carnedd Llewelyn, trying out watersports and wild swimming or enjoying a fun-filled activity at Zip World. Walk both the Snowdonia Slate Trail and the North Wales Pilgrims Way which pass close to Bronfa.

Cycle or walk into Bangor or Bethesda and beyond on the old railway lines through Tregarth. Visit Llandudno for the beach and for the Great Orme Tramway. Visit Llanberis for the Snowdon Mountain Railway, National Slate Museum or kayaking on Llyn Padarn. There is something for everyone with a stay at Bronfa.

Bethesda is a small town settled beside the River Ogwen in North Wales. Situated on the A5 between Bangor and the Snowdonia National Park, Bethesda was once a busy slate quarrying town and nowadays offers a good selection of shops and other amenities, in particular a number of chapels and pubs. The beautiful mountainous scenery of Snowdonia borders Bethesda, with the Lôn Las Ogwen cycling and walking paths skirting past. For the more adventurous, why not visit Zip World in Bethesda which is known for having Europe’s fastest and longest zip line. Capel Curig, just ten miles away, is a popular centre for walking, climbing and mountain biking, whilst Llanberis is situated at the foot of Mount Snowdon and is home to the Snowdon Mountain Railway and the National Slate Museum. Cwm Idwal is also a wonderful spot to visit, situated in northern Snowdonia – Darwin came to study the area and found tiny fossils of oceanic plant life and sea creatures in the boulders and rocks. The coastal town of Caernarfon is just a short drive away as is the beautiful Isle of Anglesey and the Anglesey Coastal Path. Visitors to the area can also explore the castles of Caernarfon and Beaumaris and the NT stately homes of Penrhyn Castle and Plas Newydd Country House and Gardens. Spend the day at one of the many traditional seaside resorts, or discover the isolated, hidden beaches on Anglesey, much of which is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. With spectacular scenery on the doorstep, wonderful wildlife with buzzards soaring overhead and the occasional Peregrine Falcon to be seen, and many exciting outdoor adventures to discover nearby, Bethesda is superbly located for enjoying both the coast and the countryside of stunning North Wales.

Everything we could possibly wish for - lovely house location, facilities and very cosy. Would recommend in an instant. Thank you.

We cannot fault anything, the house is beautifully clean, beds very comfortable and the best showers we have ever experienced. I personally loved the fab views from the windows and the quietness of the area, also the horses in the field were nice to see. We appreciated the milk, tea and biscuits on arrival, it was a nice touch. I loved the attention to detail, the towel hooks (something there is usually not enough of), the seating outside, it was a lovely suntrap on the sunny days, and what beautiful views. I have stayed in many holiday cottages, and this has been the best yet! Thank you.
