About this property

Resting in the heart of St. Asaph, Denbighshire is Cascon, a fabulous, four-bedroom holiday home. Nestled near the Clwydian Range and Dee Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, whilst a short journey from the coast, Cascon offers a stylish, well-equipped base for a family of eight, complete with an enclosed garden, private hot tub, and ground-floor accommodation. Park up on the private driveway and make use of the EV charging point, if necessary, before heading indoors to your new abode. Start your break in the open-plan living space, where you can prepare meals in the sleek kitchen, gather around the dining table, and unwind with the Smart TV for entertainment. The snug offers a quiet nook to retreat to if you fancy some peace and quiet, the ideal place to delve into a good book with a coffee or glass of wine in hand. If the weather allows, entertain in the rear garden, fully enclosed and private, where you can dine alfresco, bask in the sunshine, and enjoy a dip in the indulgent hot tub. As day turns into night, select between four well-appointed bedrooms, starting with the master king-size, benefitting from a private en-suite shower room and a delightful, free-standing bath; be sure to enjoy a long soak after a day of walking. A ground-floor double is also available, serviced by a ground-floor bathroom, whilst a further double and twin complete the first floor. Awaken to a refreshing shower before donning your walking boots to hike across the area, with the Rhaeadr Dyserth Waterfall, Gop Hill Cairn, and Loggerheads Country Park all worth visiting for a nature-filled landscape, before returning home to dine out in St. Asaph. For beachgoers, the sweeping terrain of Prestatyn Central Beach and Rhyl Beach can be reached by car, whilst history buffs will enjoy touring Denbigh Castle/ Castell Dinbych and Cae Dai 1950s Museum, situated in the centre of the county. Well-positioned to explore Chester, with a plethora of shops, eateries, pubs, and landmarks to take advantage of, be sure to stop off at Chester Cathedral, follow the Chester City Walls, Chester Roman Amphitheatre, and River Dee, before enjoying an ice cream at the riverfront. All of this awaits at Cascon.

St Asaph, though small, was awarded city status in 2012, even though it boasts a population of little over 3500 occupants. Lying in the Vale of Clwyd, six miles between Denbigh and the coastal town of Rhyl, in North Wales, St Asaph enjoys a strategic location overlooking the rivers Clwyd and Elwy. The city offers delightful riverside parkland and a children’s play area with picturesque river walks where you may see kingfishers, sparrow hawks and buzzards. St Asaph is home to a historic cathedral, dating back 1400 years in areas and holding the reputation of being the smallest, ancient cathedral in Britain. It is also renowned as the location where the Bible was translated into Welsh in the 16th century. In September, the city comes alive with the arrival of the North Wales International Music festival, which takes place across numerous locations, culminating for the last few years in a television finale, broadcast from the cathedral. St Asaph offers numerous amenities and activities, from traditional pubs, to gastronomic dining experiences, numerous craft and gift shops and local clubs offering a 9-hole golf course, horse riding, angling, and crown green bowling, as well as a thriving leisure centre and the Tweedmill Retail Outlet. A superb holiday location for exploring this picturesque area of North Wales.

The owner was welcoming and so helpful with any questions we had. We visited during the last week of Oct/Nov and would love to return in the summer and enjoy the home. The local area has everything you need from a park, walks by the river to nice pubs and restaurants. Wouldnt hesitate to go back and hopefully will one day soon.

All the facilities were spot on and it was immaculate. Thanks to Elin and Russell for a very warm welcome which was really appreciated. St Asaph was wonderful with a stunning Cathedral, we were so fortunate to be able to attend the September festival there, and were privileged to see some amazing musicians, again, we were made so welcome. We can also recommend.. Bengal Village Indian takeaway, The Chippery and The Plough, for excellent food. And a visit to Afonwen craft centre is a must with some gorgeous antiques and lovely restaurant and delightful riverside views. And finally City Cars taxis for going above and beyond to get us where we needed to go, thank you. We would love to return soon.
