As the sun rises, enjoy a coffee in the conservatory before heading into Nottage for a bite to eat or to hike across the nearby Kenfig National Nature Reserve, ahead of travelling to Porthcawl, with its promenade, marina and lighthouse, bustling with plenty of amenities to keep you busy, including restaurants serving local produce, as well as a number of golf courses nearby, including the Royal Porthcawl and St. Mary. Travelling towards Port Talbot, opt for a unique attraction at the Baked Bean Museum of Excellence, or head to Aberavon Aqua Splash, before venturing towards Brecon Beacons National Park, dotted with beauty spots and activities; aboard the Brecon Mountain Railway for views across the park, burn some energy at Zip World Tower, or head indoors to tour Cyfarthfa Castle Museum and Art Gallery. All of this can be enjoyed at The Clock House.

In Bridgend, South Wales, between Porthcawl and South Cornelly, there is an ancient settlement called Nottage. The Swan Inn, Farmers Arms, and Rose and Crown are three well-liked pubs in the village, which is close to Porthcawl's coastline and offers a variety of amenities. The village also has a convenience store. Visit Porthcawl Museum, Porthcawl Lighthouse, and Porthcawl Sea Front for an agenda packed with sights, or for a day filled with nature, take a stroll in The Wilderness Lake Porthcawl. Driving farther into the county will take you to the Brecon Beacons National Park, which is worth packing your walking shoes for. Aberavon, a bustling seaside town with a variety of family-friendly attractions, is also approachable by vehicle.

Curtains missing in bedrooms (rails there) and reeled extension leads being used in a couple of the bedrooms. No mattress or pillow protectors ( normal practice in rentals or home) and the sheets on my daughters bed didn’t fit and cover the mattress properly. I feel the 2 smaller bedrooms should be singles, no room for a wardrobe. Unable to open some windows as were locked and no key available, hence my bedroom, one of the smaller ones was very hot. I don’t think the floors had been given a good clean as I wiped up a spill and the cloth was more dirty than would be expected, one of the ovens was very dirty and smelly. The listing states 4 TV’s, there were only 2 and couldn’t get the upstairs one working. BBQ , which we had to ask the owner for was filthy. Bit of a disappointment seeing the hot tub, feel there should be a picture on the listing so people know what they’re getting. These issues didn’t spoil our holiday too much the house is great for a crowd, the grandkids had a great time playing hide and seek, and the hot tub was ideal for them, not so much for adults.
