Guests say

Oxford House in Llandudno is highly praised for its cleanliness, spaciousness, and prime location close to amenities and the promenade. Guests appreciate the comfortable furnishings, well-maintained property, and the thoughtful touches such as welcome packs. While some suggest improvements in facilities and seating for larger groups, the overall experience is very positive with many looking forward to returning.

Guests consistently mention the property's exceptional cleanliness, noting it is well maintained with clean rooms and fresh bedding. The high standard of cleanliness contributes significantly to the overall positive experience.

The property's location is frequently highlighted as ideal, being central, quiet, and within walking distance to local amenities, cafes, beaches, and attractions. Its proximity to a large supermarket is also appreciated.

Comfort is a strong point for Oxford House, with guests finding the beds very comfortable and the living spaces cosy. The additional snug room is a plus for quiet time. However, some guests noted that seating could be improved for larger groups.

Facilities are generally well-received, with a well-equipped kitchen and multiple bathrooms. However, guests have suggested that the property could benefit from additional kitchen equipment for larger groups, better seating arrangements, and minor maintenance on items like light bulbs and wardrobe doors.

While guests mention welcome packs and a bottle of Prosecco, there is not enough information to determine if such gestures are consistent or guaranteed for every stay. Therefore, a score cannot be provided for thoughtfulness.

Comfortable beds. We found the house comfortable but there is insufficient seating in the lounge (we were 9 adults) and had to use 2 plastic dining chairs when we were all sitting together, which wasn't very comfortable. To get 9 people around the dining table was a tight squeeze (it's designed for 8). Crockery is minimal - 1 plate/bowl per person - and having extra would certainly have helped to minimise dishwasher use. Allocated parking at the rear of the property is convenient but challenging to access for larger vehicles, and we found space on either Oxford Road or around the corner on Norman Road. The wall clock in the kitchen didn't work, no hand towels were provided and the first floor bathroom door was awkward and stiff to open - not major issues but, nevertheless, let the place down somewhat.

Would recommend to anyone who is going to Llandudno to stay. Had everything we needed, off-road parking, close to town- superb!

Asda is just a stones throw and the main shopping area is at the end of the road. The off street parking at the back of the house was also helpful (slightly annoying though that you have to lock the back door from the inside and dash around via the street in the rain to your car!) The sitting room and a snug is nice when some want to watch a film and others can chat in a separate room. It would indeed be helpful (as others have mentioned) to have a downstairs WC - moving the washing machine from under the stairs and using the locked storage cupboard space next to it for this purpose might be a consideration to the owner. Reasonable kitchen utensils - as the house sleeps 8, a few more mugs would be good - just 3 wine glasses! The heating arrangement appears that the control on the wall has to be turned up manually, so the house cannot be set to warm an hour before getting up so someone has to be up to sort that early! The lights are on settings that switch off - the kitchen light automatically switches on when someone enters and stays on for a time until motion is not detected - no manual switch, annoying to be honest not to be able to turn the bright light off manually (especially when you have a migraine headache and need to still use the kitchen!) Although showing pretty towels and cosy blankets in the advertising photos, we had quite thin brown towels, no blankets (which would have been appreciated on a chilly evening) and no books or homely touches - a corporate look I guess. We have been coming to Llandudno as an extended family for many years - this is the first place we have stayed with no welcome pack - not even a solitary bottle of wine - just a few sachets of tea/long life milk and some pods for the coffee machine. The Welsh welcome sadly missing! All in all, it works well as spacious accommodation for extended family (separate sleeping floors and 3 showers) handy for it's location with private parking - but maybe missing those little touches that make it a little more comfortable - especially for when staying more than a few days.
