This elegant little stone cottage invites you to unplug from everyday life and enjoy the truly superb location. Situated in a row of 3 stone cottages, amongst the oldest cottages in the village of Llanddewi Brefi which has 2 warm and welcoming inns within 5 minutes’ walk, both serve food. The area will delight outdoor enthusiasts with all sorts of activities to try, including walks and cycle routes, with plenty starting from the cottage, and mountain biking opportunities nearby.
Step inside this stylish cottage and you’ll immediately feel at home thanks to the warm and welcoming décor. There are two deep, comfy sofas in the living room, gathered around a wood burner with a basket of logs ready and waiting. Plus, an area to work at the handy office desk if you need it. The kitchen has a country cottage feel, but modernised with ceramic worktops, pale pink units and beams crossing the ceiling. A full range of modern appliances makes cooking here a pleasure. With an open plan, dining, living and kitchen area the space is perfect for gathering and catching up on the day’s events.
Upstairs, the two double bedrooms are relaxing spaces with exposed brick, beams and chic colour palettes. There’s a family bathroom with a shower over the bath and a lavish rainfall shower head. The master bedroom has an en-suite shower room too. You’ll find sumptuous beds with crisp white linen and fluffy bath towels waiting for you. Look out of the windows when you wake up and take in the views. There are gardens, with benches, front and back so you can catch the sun at any time of day.
The village is awaiting the opening of a community-run shop which will open three days a week.
Tregaron is 3 miles away and has a good range of shops and eating places, as well as a traditional sheep market once a month. Just outside the town the Cors Caron Nature Reserve is set on a vast wetland site and is home to over 170 species of birds. A 35-minute drive will bring you to the fantastic Ceredigion coastline with its beaches, dolphin-watching boat trips, the town of Aberystwyth with its cliff railway, pier and long promenade and the attractive Georgian harbour town of Aberaeron, famous for its honey ice cream. For a more leisurely activity, there are plenty of historic houses, castles, and abbeys to discover and several excellent distilleries and breweries. Beach 16¼ miles.
Guests are welcome to use both back and front gardens.

Lovely comfortable and cosy cottage.The host was very quick to respond to our few questions at the start of the holiday as the cleaner had not left any wood or anything for the starter pack for rhe fire ,or any welcome pack, not Anne's fault, plus we could not figure out the oven. Note to future guests, there are two oven switches, one to the left and one to the right. The village is very quiet, would not really recommend either of the two pubs and local shop still remains closed, so make sure you take provisions with you. The nearest convenience store is in Tregaron which is well stocked and good value for money. The Talbot serves excellent food, so if you do visit the lamb rump is definitely recommended. We had a boat trip in New Quay and must have seen 30 plus dolphins 🐬, amazing experience and great knowledgeable crew.If you want peace and tranquility, this is the place for you.

The cottage was pleasant, comfortable, warm, and quiet, located in a country village. Groceries and other amenities are just a short drive away. It was quite easy to get to places of interest - National Trust properties, seaside towns, like Aberaeron, with its brightly coloured houses, lovely honey ice cream and New Quay, with boat trips to see dolphins in the bay, are just a few of the nearby enticements. Ann, the owner, was very helpful, answering our questions and sharing her enthusiasm for the property. She has relatively recently inherited Ivy Bush Cottage and is committed to preserving and restoring some of its original features whilst making good use of environmentally and ecologically friendly systems. She is choosing to enhance the interior, where possible, with some interesting pieces of renovated furniture. If you want a place to get away from the hustle and bustle of life, then Ivy Bush Cottage is the place for you.
