About this property

Nestled on the edge of Aberaeron in Ceredigion is this beautiful, semi-detached cottage, Awel Aeron. For family-friendly accommodation in Wales, the cottage is perfectly placed for the beach, local attractions and is thoughtfully appointed for self-catering holidays. Find off-road parking for two cars on arrival to get settled in with ease; you'll be welcomed by a traditional, Georgian-style holiday home with a pastel pink exterior. Freshen up in the handy cloakroom before stepping inside the kitchen/diner, a stylish space with shaker-style, granite units to rustle up your best home-cooked meals. Keep the chef company at the breakfast bar for two, before gathering around the dining table to plan your adventures over a delicious family dinner. Let the dishwasher do the dirty work whilst you retire to the sitting room to watch TV; curl up in a traditional Welsh blanket as the woodburner crackles nearby for added comfort! After fun-filled days by the sea, throw towels and wetsuits into the washer/dryer in the utility and climb the stairs for a relaxing soak in the bath. All three bedrooms have been beautifully appointed with Welsh blankets, local artwork and ample storage space; choose between two doubles or claim the master double with its own en-suite shower room! During the summer months, Awel Aeron has a wonderful garden space to dine alfresco with a barbecue, outdoor seating and a hot tub for the ultimate de-stress; the garden is fully enclosed for little ones to play and picnic on the lawn area! The heart of Aberaeron is a short walk away with plenty of shops, eateries and pubs to suit the whole family, as well as Aberaeron Beach, a picturesque pebble beach to sit and listen to the waves. A short drive inland will take you to the beautifully restored 18th century National Trust run Llanerachaeron estate, where an exquisite walled garden and an ornamental lake offer a truly idyllic setting for a stroll. Further up the coast, Aberystwyth, a lively coastal town, offers plenty of activities such as climbing Constitution Hill up the cliff railway to view the Camera Obscura, before strolling along the promenade towards The Royal Pier and past the Old College towards Aberystwyth Castle, which is perched spectacularly on the headland overlooking the Irish Sea. Take a ride on the Vale of Rheidol Railway to the stunning Devils Bridge Falls, for an incredible picturesque journey over rolling hills and woodland, or bring your bikes and join The Rheidol Trail, a well-marked 15-mile trail that runs from Aberystwyth Harbour to Devil's Bridge across the stunning Rheidol Valley! Then on your way back to your Aberaeron base, call in at Strata Florida in Pontrhydfendigaid near Tregaron to view the remains of one of the earliest Cistercian monasteries, to tap deep into Welsh history and culture. Continue this Welsh odyssey down the coast in Cardigan, the home to a 12th-century riverfront castle which was the birthplace of the Welsh Eisteddfod in 1176. For a family-friendly holiday in Wales, choose a stay at Awel Aeron.

A delightful Georgian seaside village with a fine pebble beach and beautiful sea views, located between Cardigan and Aberystwyth. There are many unique souvenir shops, excellent restaurants and taverns, and a peaceful little port where you can watch the boats come and go. Aberaeron is in an ideal location for boat cruises and watersports, as well as coastal and countryside hikes and bike tours.
