About this property

A comfortable, self-catering cottage on an organic dairy farm overlooking the tranquil Teifi Valley of west Wales. Enjoy a country retreat in a beautiful landscape with plenty of peace and quiet. There is a private hot-tub for the exclusive use of guests staying in the cottage. Centrally located, Penyrallt Fach Cottage is ideal for relaxing or visiting the beaches, mountains and numerous attractions of west Wales, with Pembrokeshire, the coast of Cardigan Bay, Carmarthenshire and St David's all within easy reach.

Venture down a leafy country lane, over a old stone bridge and up the farm drive to arrive at Penyrallt Fach Cottage. This pretty, stone-built,  Grade II listed Victorian former Piggery has been converted into a delightful & comfortable holiday cottage that sleeps up to three guests on a secluded traditional organic dairy farm for a real country getaway either as a short break( minimum 3 nights) to full weeks or longer.

The cottage which is adjacent to, though quite separate from, the 17th century traditional Welsh farmhouse, is an ideal self-catering base from which to explore the many glories of west Wales. Cardigan Bay's stunning beaches are just thirty minutes away and the castles, gardens and many historic sites of Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire are all within easy reach as are the attractive small market towns of the Tefii Valley which forms the county boundaries between Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire. The beautiful Cathedral City of St David ’s (the smallest city in Britain) is also a pleasant drive away.

For those who enjoy walking, the spectacular All Wales Coast-Path is a must and there is also fantastic hill walking inland in the Cambrian mountains of Ceredigion and the Preseli hills of Pembrokeshire.

Penyrallt Home Farm is a haven for wildlife with over 20 acres of woodland, three ponds and a small river running along the northern boundary where otters have been seen. There are resident badgers, rabbits, foxes as well as buzzards, herons, red kites and kingfishers.

The farm has been farmed organically for over thirty years and supplies organic milk to a Pembrokeshire-based organic dairy company which provides the market with liquid milk, butter & cheese.

This attractive & unpretentious cosy cottage has character and a quirky charm with its exposed beams, wood-lined ceilings and wooden floors. The cottage is traditionally furnished, with much of the furniture, including the new kitchen & beds, made by the owners from timber harvested from the woods on the farm

The main room is an open-plan kitchen/sitting-room with a large farmhouse table and seating, an antique larder cupboard, two comfortable sofas and a lovely log burning stove - ideal for those more chilly nights! The recently renewed kitchen has an electric ceramic hob cooker, a dishwasher, fridge, microwave oven, toaster and electric kettle, coffee grinder & all necessary utensils, china, cutlery & glass.

There is Wi-Fi, television, radio and a DVD player for guests to enjoy in front of a roaring fire, after a long walk in the hills or day on the beach - a perfect country retreat!

The two bedrooms (recently refurbished) are carpeted and attractively furnished with antique chests of drawers. The larger room has a king-size bed and the smaller room one small double, making the cottage suitable for couples or small families with an older or teenage child. Each bed is supplied with a goose-down duvet, 2 pillows per person and beautiful locally-made Welsh wool coverlets.

There is an outdoor wood-fired hot tub for the exclusive use of guests staying in the cottage.
