I would give 5* for the views and grounds. The grounds are very well kept and the scenery and wildlife is spectacular. Everywhere you look are so many different types of birds, mistle thrush, red kites, marsh tits, Canada geese, and more, amazing. It’s very quiet and peaceful outside, just surrounded by nature. As for internally, I’d give a 3*. There are lots of places where the paint has peeled off, especially in the hall as you open the front door, damp I think. cobwebs dotted about. All the surfaces were clean and bathrooms too, however the shower I used, the hose was leaking. All the walls are very scuffed and dirty. The whole place needs redecorating. There’s a water tank on upstairs landing which never stops, I think it’s the overflow. You can hear it in the bedrooms and lounge, very annoying. Most of the cushions are flat as a pancake. The furniture is random and mismatched. A lot not in keeping with the building. It could easily be a 5* luxury property but it’s let down by the above items. The kitchen is extremely well equipped, has everything you could need for a large gathering. Good WiFi too. The whole property was very warm from the underfloor heating and easy to turn up or down. The hot tub was ok, some lights were not working and the jets are a little weak, but it was a toasty 38 degrees and a nice touch. I don’t think it was worth the price due to all the above issues. Overall we enjoyed the area, but was disappointed by the interior.
