About this property

Nestled in the popular village of Benllech, a short walk from the seafront with its fine, golden, blue flag beach, Stonyway is a well-presented bungalow on the beautiful Isle of Anglesey. This lovely accommodation ensures families and friends can come together and explore the unspoilt coastline and scenic walks of the area, with a homely base to return to at the end of each day. You have three bedrooms to choose from, ideal for groups of four, the master double boasting its very own en-suite shower room, while the two other rooms are served by the family shower room. Once you have spent a fun-packed day at the beach, you can freshen up before unwinding into your evening. Find a quiet spot in the sitting room or the snug, to bury your nose in a good book, taking some time to recover from an adventure in the Snowdonia National Park, which rests just across the Menai Strait. You can rustle up a delicious homemade meal in the kitchen and get everyone together around the dining table to exchange stories of the fun you've had so far. Then, find yourself making the most of the conservatory, sitting on the patio watching the sunset over the sea, or soaking up a long summer's evening in the enclosed rear garden, where the kids can play on the lawn while you watch on by with a chilled drink in hand. Discover all the delights of this charming village before heading further afield to explore the island's rich culture and heritage. There are plenty of walking and cycling routes to take, as well as many water-based activities to try at windswept bays and vast beaches. The lively town of Bangor is worth a visit over the Menai Bridge and the whole of the Snowdonia National Park offers many outdoor pursuits including walks to the summit of Snowdon. Stonyway is a cosy retreat, offering a well-deserved holiday in North Wales.

Benllech has a beach with a slipway allowing easy access for all, a variety of shops and cafés along the front, as well as more shops, pubs, hotels and restaurants in the village centre. The setting promises to suit every taste, with easy access to the coast, rural Anglesey and of course the mountains of Snowdonia.

Loved the conservatory and large fridge/freezer. Heat came on very quickly, great for drying damp clothing! However, 1. Damp exterior wall, lower bedroom. Clothes kept in wardrobe felt damp. 2. "Extra" step between bedroom and bathroom was hazardous; we both almost tripped up on several occasions.

Despite this (minor re-jig of the dustbin collections) we would STRONGLY recommend Stonycroft as an excellent base for a short holiday on Anglesey. We actually met the owner, who arrived to carry out garden maintenance during out stay. This was not a problem.

Steps in the main bedroom were an issue very easy to trip up. The property was damp when we arrived. The towels were damp as was the toilet paper! When we went to bed the bedding and pillows were damp I had a very uncomfortable 1st night with hardly any sleep as I felt damp. The general cleaning was not good and was not spotless as some reviews say. The windows in the conservatory were full of sticky finger marks as was a long mirror. There was mould on the walls which is a health issue. Even though it was a heatwave we had to put the heating on to try and dry the place out. The shower tray in the ensuite does not drain towards the plug but holds at opposite end on tray this caused over spill onto the floor which has over time damaged the lino. There was something sticky on the coffee table in conservatory. The garden was over grown we had to cut down over grown plants to be able to sit on one of the benches.
