This is a delightful one-bedroom cottage which has recently been converted from a former farm building, offering a charming base for exploring the beautiful Isle of Anglesey, an ideal holiday destination for walkers and ornithologists.

This romantic bolthole has an airy open plan layout, combining rustic character with modern comfort. The rustic charm has been maintained with high ceilings and exposed beams, along with a wood burner for cosy winter nights. The bathroom is modern and spacious with a walk-in waterfall shower. The kitchen is modern and has been well equipped for all your holiday needs. Furnished with handcrafted wooden furniture and a sumptuous leather sofa, the living room has a 50" HD TV and a Blu-Ray player along with a selection of DVDs, games and books. The beams and sloping ceilings in the bedroom may need taller guests to mind their heads!

French doors lead out onto a wonderful view of the rspb’s Llyn Traffwll lake, whilst the living room window offers a stunning panoramic view of Snowdonia. Curlew Cottage has a lawned garden.

With the benefit of dazzling sunrises and stunning sunsets coupled with uninterrupted views of Snowdonia, Cerrig Cottages offer a superb location and inspiration for photographers and artists. Those who wish to take advantage of Anglesey’s ‘Dark Skies’ will be amazed at the myriad of stars and galaxies visible on clear nights. Cerrig Cottages are also close to RAF Valley which will be of interest to aviation enthusiasts for the opportunity to watch the trainee pilots, visiting military aircraft, plus the Red Arrows who are frequent visitors to the base.

Cerrig Cottages are an ideal ornithologists’ holiday location, with over 85 species of bird recorded on site by the wildlife-loving cottage owners, including large flocks of lapwing, curlew, golden plover, skylark, wheatear, stonechat, three species of owl, peregrine falcon, the charismatic chough and even a booming bittern. Stoats and lizards live in the garden walls, there are newts and dragonflies in the pond, and otters have recently been seen in Llyn Traffwll at the bottom of the paddock. As part of their wildlife recording, the cottage owners regularly undertake moth trapping sessions which guests are welcome to attend, rapidly becoming a favourite activity for younger guests. New for 2021 cottage guests will have special access to the owners’ new 6.5 acre wildflower meadow, home to nesting skylarks and meadow pipits in the spring, followed by a myriad of butterflies and pollinators in the summer when the wildflowers are in full bloom.

The public footpath opposite Cerrig Cottages takes you to the rspb reserve Valley Wetlands to the north, or a 40-minute ramble to the south brings you to the seaside town of Rhosneigr with its vast beach famous for sea sports, as well as a variety of bars and cafés. For those preferring to drive, beaches at Rhosneigr and Trearddur Bay are less than 15 minutes away. Fishing and golf nearby. Traeth Cymyran takes 10 minutes by car and Rhoscolyn, the location of Prince William’s favourite Anglesey pub, takes just 15 minutes. Beach 2½ miles.
