Inside, the cottage has a bright and sociable open-plan living space where the kitchen, dining area, and lounge flow together. The well-equipped kitchen provides everything you need to prepare meals during your stay, while the dining area is perfect for enjoying relaxed breakfasts before a day of exploring or gathering together for evening meals. The comfortable lounge area offers a cosy place to unwind, whether you’re planning the next day’s adventure or simply relaxing after a walk along the beach.
Husabost House is thoughtfully arranged to suit a variety of guests. On the ground floor there is a twin bedroom with two single beds, making it convenient for guests who prefer to avoid stairs. Also downstairs is a modern wet room. Upstairs you’ll find two further bedrooms: a spacious king-size room and a comfortable double bedroom, along with a shower room. Outside, the cottage is surrounded by a large garden where guests can enjoy the fresh Atlantic air and peaceful island setting. Directly opposite the house lies Baleshare Beach, a beautiful stretch of sand that’s perfect for morning walks, wildlife spotting, or simply taking in the breathtaking coastal views.
Baleshare itself is a quiet and scenic island connected to North Uist by the Baleshare Causeway. The island is known for its unspoilt beaches, rich birdlife, and archaeological sites. Just across the causeway on North Uist, visitors can explore the nature reserve at Balranald rspb Reserve, famous for corncrakes and coastal wildlife. Further afield, day trips by small ferry can take you to the historic standing stones at Callanish Stones on Isle of Lewis, or the dramatic mountain scenery of Harris.

Third time we’ve stayed here now and already looking forward to a fourth. Should probably avoid if you don’t like complete peace and tranquility, sea eagles flying all around, the sound of the waves on the shore 100m away, miles and miles of beach all to yourself or being surrounded by otters, golden eagles, baby cows and lambs (at the right time of year) and the the biggest skies you can imagine being under. You should definitely avoid it if you don’t like finding yourself under the Milky Way and a trillion other stars at night time. If those things sound alright, then you won’t find a better home on Uist. Excellent for dogs too!

If your looking for a get away from it all type holiday - this place is ideal. Plenty of fresh air with a long beautiful sandy beach in front of the house to walk along . The house is cosy with everything you need during your stay. The owners live locally and are at hand if you need anything. Local amenities - you have everything you need buts its a drive away - groceries, coffee and petrol .But you don't come to a location like this for all the conveniences we have living in urban areas . Need to accept it is an island away from it all. Simply its a magical place - very restful, a place to recharge .
