A lovely comfortable cottage in a beautiful, peaceful location. Well equipped with everything we needed and a friendly, helpful host. Well poisoned to explore Lewis and Harris or just to have a chilled break in a quiet, peaceful spot. Cottage backs on to a lochan with regular sightings of a back throated diver and other species which kept the birdwatcher very happy. We really enjoyed our stay and would book again, thank you.

Lochview is a great property. I spent a week ( 7th june - 14th June 2025 ) with my wife 2 daughters & 2 grandsons and the facilities were very clean, comfortable and very well looked after. It is a great place to base yourself. A car is essential, I would say. Stornoway is 10 min drive away for all your essentials and the location, we found to be ideal for us to go between Lewis & Harris. The owner was easy to contact if need be and always responded quickly with any queries and supplied a much appreciated bottle of wine on our arrival. A great experience. Would definitely go back.

Beautifully decorated and presented accommodation with many good features and a generous welcome gift and luxury linen. Lovely views from the windows overlooking the loch at the back and ponies in the field opposite. A large enclosed garden so good if you have a dog. However, this is clearly a holiday let rather than a second home and falls short on practical features. It sleeps six but the table only seats four. There is a dishwasher but exactly six plates, forks etc so you have to wash up after every meal. Only a tiny fridge located in the utility room rather than the kitchen. The very stylish pendant lights are too low so anyone tall is constantly banging their head on the heavy glass shades. There is a smart tv but the Internet is too slow to watch anything live and keeps buffering. Only one coffee table book and one set of dominoes. No other books, toys or games for children or adults. No visitor's book. The owner has gone to lengths to make it luxurious but there were just too many minor irritations for us and we won't be returning.
