Snaptrip says

Otter Cottage is highly praised for its stunning location, luxurious comfort, and cleanliness. Guests appreciate the thoughtful touches, including welcome packs and dog-friendly amenities. While there is a single mention of maintenance issues, the overwhelming majority of reviews celebrate the property's exceptional standards and the hospitality of the hosts.

Guests that stayed at this property said

The property consistently receives high commendations for its cleanliness, with numerous guests noting it as spotless and well-maintained. One review mentioned a lack of hot water, but this seems an isolated incident not directly related to cleanliness.

The location is universally lauded, with guests enchanted by the proximity to Scarista beach and the beautiful views. The serene and picturesque setting contributes to the property's high rating in this category.

Comfort is a highlight, with guests finding the property warm, welcoming, and akin to a home away from home. The luxurious touches and comfortable furnishings contribute to a highly positive experience.

Facilities are generally well-regarded, with mentions of a well-equipped property and special features like outdoor seating. However, one review cited issues with hot water and heating, suggesting some room for improvement in maintenance.

Guests frequently mention the thoughtful gestures, such as welcome packs and dog-friendly amenities. While these are highly appreciated, it is noted that such extras, while common, should not be expected on every occasion.

About this property

Leverburgh 5.4 miles. Overlooking Scarista Beach, this beautiful little cottage watches the moody sea from a perfect spot in Scarista, near Leverburgh on the Isle of Harris in the Outer Hebrides, and is perfect for families and their four-legged friend. With a white sandy beach so close to the house, this cottage will not disappoint when it comes to those with a taste for the great outdoors, surrounded by the blooming ‘machair’ flowers and a crofting community that is still very much alive today. Upon parking in your private spot, marvel both at the scenery and the huge windows and stunning architecture of this build, immediately enticing you to come inside. A cathedral like ceiling encompasses the most stunning open-plan living area with high ceilings and huge windows giving endless views of the beach and the beautiful sunsets as they give way to starry skies of an evening. Within this space you will find a relaxing sitting area with a TV, perfect for a family games night, and why not utilise the fantastic kitchen, creating a masterpiece with your friends and family out of the local produce, before presenting it on the central wooden dining table bedside the magnificent windows? You will be delighted to find a ground-floor king-size (zip link so can be a twin on request) room fitted with its very own en-suite shower room, decorated with a touch of Harris Tweed to keep the theme of the countryside heritage throughout this contemporary build, and a twin room with scenic views, a spacious room and an en-suite shower room and the master bedroom, decorated in warm purples, with a wonderful home-from-home en-suite bathroom, allowing everyone to enjoy the home comforts that this property has to offer. Just a short distance from the house you will find a beautiful sandy beach, where you can picnic with your family, take a walk with your four-legged-friend or even try out kayaking and wild swimming, and due to the remoteness of the area, the beaches stay quiet even in the summer. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The only small criticism would be that it was advertised as having an enclosed garden, which it did but was enclosed with Corncrake cottage, so we still had to supervise the dog at all times outside as next door had dogs too. We still had a fabulous holiday, thank you.
