Warm, comfortable studio in lovely, quiet location with fantastic views over the bay, but only a few minutes from the ferry terminal in Tarbert. In an excellent location for touring the whole of Lewis and Harris, with its stunning scenery. The bed was too firm for me, but that is a matter of preference and I still slept well.An oven would have been helpful but, since I knew there wasn’t one, I planned accordingly. We didn’t go out much in the evening, as the midges are fierce! Remember the insect repellent and midge hoods. After a busy day, we were more than happy to just sit and relax and look out at the wonderful view. This was slightly marred by the fact that the house across the road was being renovated and, on a few occasions during the day, the tradesmen’s vehicles partially blocked our view of the bay.We did have wonderful weather the whole week, which was a real bonus.

Peaceful location with a lovely view. Well placed for exploring beautiful Harris. The cottage was all prepared and ready for us. Very well equipped with everything needed and a useful welcome pack. A nice and spacious kitchen area with good storage, a good size bathroom with a large shower. King size bed with plenty clothes storage and large television. The area with large viewing window is separated with sliding doors.all windows have blinds for privacy. The look and value for money could be improved if silicone around all areas where used in bathroom was replaced as although clean it is now black and also black areas on bathroom blind & window and the side door. Bedside cabinet tops are damaged. While the two chairs are comfortable they are very worn and damaged.. Exterior woodwork would look nice if repainted and some work on paths and area around cottage. While it was comfortable and well equipped some TLC would certainly gain it 5stars.

Loved the location, especially the loch views. Only short drive to Tarbert for groceries and good coffee shop/deli. Saw golden eagles from the cottage and many seals. The cottage facilities were adequate and the bed very comfortable if you like a firm mattress. Improvements could be made with the size of the fridge (very small) and the provision of blackout blinds for the large glass doors- it was very light during the night in midsummer. There is no oven, but we coped with microwave, hob and air fryer.
