We had a very enjoyable week at Gramsdale House. Margaret met us at the house on our arrival and showed us round. The house is lovely - warm, clean, comfortable, very well-equipped and everything worked. It is well situated for visiting North and South Uist, as well as Benbecula. I would have no hesitation in recommending it.A word of warning to anyone thinking of booking the Mallaig-Lochboisdale ferry - don't! This ferry has long-standing ongoing problems and is likely to be diverted or cancelled at very short notice. The day before my crossing, I received messages that it would be diverted to Oban, then to Uig (a 3 hour drive from Mallaig), then at 8.45 pm it was cancelled - no alternative provided or suggested. The Uig-Lochmaddy ferry is a more reliable option.

Gramsdale House is a lovely roomy bungalow which is spotlessly clean and is very well equipped with everything you would need. The sun room is particularly nice with views all around. Though we didn’t have the best of weather we were very cosy in the lounge in particular with the gas fire on. The only negative would be no welcome pack.
