Settle down to enjoy a few tranquil days in this delightful holiday cottage for four, located approximately 3.5 miles from Dunblane. Hike through the enchanting Ochil Hills and take in the magnificent vistas. Step back in time when you stand on the site of the famous Battle of Sheriffmuir, which took place in 1715 at the height of the Jacobite rising. Visit the pretty riverside town of Dunblane, 3.5 miles away, which also has a long history and is known for its cathedral and museum. This is also where book lovers will find the oldest private library in Scotland. During your break, also visit Stirling, about 9 miles away, and explore its dramatic castle. Light the open fire in the comfortable ground floor lounge and feel completely at home throughout your stay in this Scottish cottage. Enjoy the ambience created by its features, including exposed timber beams and an original cast iron range. Yet also savour the contemporary finish, with new fittings and appliances in the kitchen/diner and a modern bathroom, with under floor heating. which are also on the ground floor. Prepare home cooked meals in the kitchen and chat to your friends or family at they sit at the table. Climb the ornate staircase, with its iron balustrades, to discover the two generous bedrooms upstairs. There is also a useful cloakroom up here on the first floor for guests in both bedrooms to share. Need to know: 2 bedrooms 1 super king size and 1 twin (both rooms can be made up as double or twin beds, please advise at time of booking). 1 bathroom with WC and bath with shower over. Electric cooker, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine. Highchair, travel cot and Z bed by prior arrangement. Open fire starter pack of logs provided ( if available). TV with Freeview & built in DVD player. CD/radio and iPod dock. Limited Wi Fi. Emails, banking, shopping ok but may struggle with streaming films and games.. BBQ. Due to private water supply, hot tub hire is not available.. 1 dog welcome restricted to the sleeping in kitchen area. If you plan to charge an electric vehicle during your stay, please obtain permission before and please be aware this will be a separate charge. This is typically 10 per night and paid in cash at the end of your stay to the Estate Manager. due to live stock, we ask that dogs are kept on a lead within the grounds of the property. Shops, supermarkets, pubs and restaurants 3.5 miles away in Dunblane. Please note the main road leading up to the property is mostly single track and can be prone to ice and snow in the Winter months. 4x4 vehicles may be required for the sloping driveway up to the house. The road also leads over a bridge with a 7.5 tonne weight limit..
