Guests say

Craigdarroch Cottage offers a warm, comfortable stay with beautiful views and a well-equipped kitchen. The local pub and cafe add to the charm, and the option to purchase firewood on-site is appreciated. However, some guests have reported issues with cleanliness and maintenance.

Reviews are mixed regarding cleanliness. Some guests found the cottage to be immaculate, while others reported dirt, mould, and unpleasant odours, indicating inconsistency in this area.

The cottage is praised for its beautiful location and proximity to local amenities. However, the presence of a main road nearby has been a concern for some guests.

Guests have described the cottage as comfortable and warm, with a pleasant atmosphere. However, issues with dampness and a dangerous bathroom shower have been noted, affecting the overall comfort.

Facilities are a point of contention. While some guests were satisfied with the kitchen and firewood availability, others reported outdated information, lack of essentials, and maintenance issues.

There is no mention of gifts or special touches that would fall under thoughtfulness, aside from the provision of firewood and cleaning supplies. As such, it is not possible to score this category.

Nice cottage in a beautiful location. Comfortable and clean. Welcome folder out of date and no essentials such as tea, coffee, salt and pepper. The cottage is damp but humidifiers put in to deal with this however there were no instructions on how to empty them which needed doing daily.

This cottage is a disgrace to be classed as lovely holiday let. You had to fight through over grown weeds to open front door. You could smell the damp/mould as soon as you entered cottage. Carpet from kitchen to lounge was loose also from entrance hall! Which is very dangerous if you caught your footing.Bathroom was mould from floor to ceiling and urine stains around toilet floor smell was awful.Could not use garden as rear yard overgrown with weeds. We tried to clean it up a little but still no good. We could only stick it for 4 nights then packed and left. Totally ruined our holiday. This cottage can not have been inspected for year's and photo's are from first ever becoming a holiday let. From Dissatisfied Paul..

The cottage was dirty , mould on walls and floors in bathroom . Kitchen was dirty and paintwork was stained and dirty , carpets smelt stale and the whole house needed a good clean and redecorating . Bathroom shower was dangerous if someone used the taps in the kitchen you either got scolded or frozen. Main road right outside the front door was not mentioned in the description so lorries were passing within 2 metres of bedroom window 24 hours a day. I can understand that if you rent a house that accepts pets you have to expect that cleanliness will not be so good but this was unacceptable . I would not consider renting one of your properties on your website in the future as this property has not been inspected by you , or if it has your standards fall well below what they should be .
