Guests say

Garden Cottage in Aberfeldy is praised for its stunning location, cosy atmosphere, and wildlife encounters. Guests enjoy the beautiful views, proximity to Castle Menzies, and the charming town. The cottage offers a comfortable stay with a well-equipped kitchen and a warm log fire. While most find it clean and well-maintained, a few noted issues with cleanliness and maintenance.

Most guests found the cottage clean and well-presented, but there were some concerns about dust and a report of dirty laundry upon arrival, which suggests room for improvement.

The cottage's location is highly praised for its amazing views, proximity to local attractions, and the abundance of wildlife, making it a favourite among guests.

Guests describe the beds as comfortable and the cottage as cosy, especially with the log fire. However, there were minor issues with heating and a suggestion for clearer instructions.

The cottage is generally well-equipped, but there are reports of maintenance issues such as a leaking bath and broken cooker knobs. Some guests suggested the addition of a welcome booklet with instructions.

While guests appreciate the owner's responsiveness and the provision of wood for the fire, there is no mention of gifts or extra thoughtful touches that would warrant a score in this category.

We have stayed in many cottages across the UK, and this was by far the worst experience we have ever had. When we arrived at 7:30pm, the owner was still cleaning the property, which is completely unacceptable. There was dirty laundry left sitting in the bath that I had to remove myself. The cooker knobs were broken — something the owner was already aware of — yet no attempt had been made to repair or replace them. When one of our party had a bath, water leaked through into the kitchen below, clearly indicating a serious maintenance issue. The cleanliness throughout the property was appalling. Under the beds there was a thick build-up of dust that had clearly accumulated over weeks, if not months. The bottoms of the radiators in every room were heavily coated in dust.In the twin room, the bottom sheet had a hole in it, and the bathroom window was broken. The parking area was a complete mud bath, making it virtually impossible for two cars to park without getting stuck.Overall, the property was poorly maintained, badly presented, and fell far below an acceptable standard. We were extremely disappointed and would not recommend this cottage to anyone.

Great time at Garden Cottage. Facilities excellent. Lovely varied walks both on the doorstep and within a few miles of the Cottage. Roaring fire to return to if required with ongoing wood provided free of charge on request. Fantastic views looking across the valley from the cottage with Menzies Castle in the foreground. Lots of DVDs available for the kids and no problems with TV reception which is sometimes a problem in other venues. Sleeping accommodation very good and plenty of bathroom towels etc. Would definitely recommend and will no doubt be back soon
