House was dirty , mouldy, carpets needed a good hoover . The walls were crumbling and a lot of damp issues at windows and frames . There has been a lot of water damage to carpets. The is an adjoining door to another rental which I didnât I asked to be locked as didnât feel safe . Internet comes and goes . There was a quite a few loose tiles in bathroom needing fixed and lightening issues not great if you have little children. We spend first few days cleaning the house and bedding. It was mostly well equipped bar no plates. Itâs a shame this lovely property hasnât been looked after and upkept. Could be doing with a deep clean and repairs done asap. The smell of damp is quite strong in some areas and main door needs a handle as you canât open it and too cold to leave it open . A welcome book, manuals , instructions, information, contact details are needed. Overall as nice as the area is we wonât return or recommend

The positives - good heating system and comfortable beds. The negatives - the house vestibule has a strong damp smell. The hallway lights did not work at all which was an issue with young grandchildren. Several of the rooms had light bulb issues. The bedroom carpets were not clean and in particular under all the beds. The dishwasher was completely blocked with a thick layer of congealed grease and smelt disgusting. The kitchen was inadequate for large families. The oven and extractor did not correctly function. One of the toilet seats was broken from a previous guest and even though the owner was aware, it had not been replaced. We tried to approach the owner who was woefully lacking in trying to put things right. We also received no help from Sykes. One of the bathrooms also has an illegal light switch which has been fitted next to the shower. This could be a very nice holiday property but is greatly let down by extremely poor hygiene and attention to detail. The outside of this property requires a lot of work which greatly lets it down. There was also no visitors book or general information book supplied. I would definitely not recommend this property.

Was no fire escape route anywhere in the property. The inner door was very difficult to open and close which would not have been good if that was your only means of escape. Overall the property met our families requirements.
