Day 1 – Our initial view of the lodge was favourable.Day 2 – Netflix no longer working on the TV.Day 2 - Both toilet seats are loose.Day 2 - The kitchen tap is loose.Day 2 - The information book says there is a torch somewhere but we can't find one.Day 2 - The information book says there is a hairdryer in each bedroom, but there is only one.Day 3 - Overnight snow had turned to ice and made the access ramp slippery and dangerous. The information book said the staff would de-ice the ramps when it was necessary. They didn't do it so we had to go and buy some salt!Day 3 – No TV streaming channels working now and they never came back on during our stay.Day 3 - No wifi for several hours in the afternoon.Day 4 - No central heating this morning, while outside temp was at 0 deg c and we can't find any way of switching it on.Day 4 - Central heating working again when we arrived back from a day out, mid afternoon.Day 4 - Tried using the kitchen hob for the first time, only to find it doesn't work!

The lodge was gorgeous. It is set on a pretty backdrop with trees all around. We even heard owls hooting. The lodge itself is open plan and very tastefully decorated. It was very warm and cosy. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed ( except a bottle opener, but we bought our own) the bathrooms were big enough for us snd the shower pressure was amazing. The bedrooms were cosy and beautifully decorated. The hot tub was fantastic and well used. Yes you have to check the levels but it takes 2 minutes and is not a hassle at all. I cannot recommend these lodges enough, they are gorgeous and well situated. Edinburgh was only an hour away. The only negative I can think of is the price increase for next year. We would definitely go back but the extra £200 for the same time is too steep. 5 stars 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟
