Greenbrae East is a charming traditional 2 storey cottage in the sleepy Perthshire village of Muthill, the semi detached cottage offers beautifully presented accommodation for four guests including a wood burning stove in the sitting room for cosy winter nights and the attractive enclosed, south facing garden is perfect for summer relaxation and al fresco dining.

The cottage is close to all the village facilities including two restaurants, a 9 hole parkland golf course, a filling station and a small children’s play park located to the front of the cottage. Muthill is in an excellent location for exploring both Perthshire and much of Scotland further afield. Crieff is just a five minute drive as is the golf mecca of the famous Gleneagles Hotel and Golf course while Perth is about 1/2 hour; just over an hour to Loch Lomond, Edinburgh or St Andrews and approximately a couple of hours to Inverness or Glencoe. All in all Muthill is pretty much the centre of Scotland!

Perthshire is renowned for it’s easy access to the great outdoors be it golf, walking or mountain biking in stunning riverside or woodland locations and for the strenuous many Munros are close by. The various lochs such as Loch Tay or Loch Earn offer excellent water sports facilities.

Scotland’s heritage should not be forgotten. A trip to Scone Palace, renown as the crowning place of Scottish Kings and the original home of the Stone of Destiny; Stirling Castle has played a key role in Scotland’s history over the centuries and is well worth a visit, as are the views from The Wallace Monument surveying the lands where William Wallace victoriously led his troops at the battle of Stirling Bridge. With more colourful history at the Battle of Bannock Burn where Robert the Bruce famously defeated King Edward II of England all less than half an hours drive. Crieff itself has excellent visitor facilities including varied independent shops and galleries together with local produce in it’s cafes and restaurants. The town is also home to the Caithness Glass visitor centre and Glenturret Distillery.

Discovered that the shower drain had not been cleaned for some time when it would not drain during use the first morning. Had to give it a major clean out of other people's hair etc - not very nice! Or daughter said the twin bed she used was very bouncy and wobbly when turning over at night, and made her feel seasick. Kitchen was well equipped with lovely sharp knives which was a bonus. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.
