Guests say

Fonseca Cottage in Aberfeldy receives high praise for its immaculate cleanliness, stylish and comfortable interiors, and excellent location within walking distance of shops, cafes, and scenic walks. Guests appreciate the well-equipped kitchen, cosy atmosphere, and friendly, helpful host. While some mention steep stairs and minor parking or pet restrictions, the overall experience is overwhelmingly positive, making it an ideal choice for couples or solo travellers seeking a relaxing getaway in a charming Scottish town.

Multiple reviews highlight the cottage as spotlessly clean, sparkling, and immaculate, with no negative comments regarding cleanliness. This consistent feedback supports a very high score.

The location is frequently described as excellent, central, and within easy reach of Aberfeldy's amenities and beautiful walks. Only minor mentions of parking being on the street, but this did not detract from guests' enjoyment.

Guests repeatedly mention the cottage as cosy, comfortable, and warm, with special praise for the bed and lounge area. A few note steep stairs and low ceilings as potential issues for those with mobility concerns, but overall comfort is rated very highly.

The cottage is described as well-equipped with modern appliances, a log burner, and all essentials provided. Some minor suggestions for additional items (e.g., broom, more towels, or bin bags) and comments about the shower height and kitchen workspace, but these are outweighed by positive remarks.

Guests appreciate the host's friendliness, helpful communication, and attention to detail, with some noting information booklets and supplies for dogs. While a few mention the absence of a welcome pack or toiletries, gifts are not guaranteed and are not consistently referenced.

Difficulty finding the cottage. Had difficulty opening the front door .The overall look appeared to be clean , it wasn’t clearly stated that the bathroom was down stairs and off the living room .There was a bit of a privacy issue with the small window in the living room which was directly attached to the owners back porch and would have benefited having a blind.Cleanliness issues were , dirty toilet rim, dirty floors hadn’t been swept or mopped, disgusting blue cushion on the bed with multiple stains .Oven not clean, preheated the oven then when we opened the oven door the amount of smoke that came out of the oven set all the cottage’s alarms off . We could only open the front door as the kitchen window didn’t have a key so couldn’t open it .Also kitchen utensils and crockery not clean and no clothes or sponges supplied .Bathroom , toilet took about 10 minutes to re fill after flushing. shower tray flooded within seconds of turning the water on , took the shower trap cover off to see if that made a difference and that wasn’t clean . Saniflo unable to keep up with water flow . Outside space wasn’t sectioned off at all , seating area had no cushions and the owners washing on the washing line above the seating area . Not dog friendly at all.

A total relaxing holiday, just what was needed after a hectic few months. Top marks for Fonseca and Aberfeldy.

This is a real gem. Right in the heart of Aberfeldy but tucked back from the main road with a fully enclosed garden. Everything you could possibly need is included along with modern kitchen and amenities. The bed is one of the most comfortable I’ve slept in. The owner is lovely and very welcoming and accommodating. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this cottage.
