Just back from a 2 night stay at The Old Nunnery. We were a family group with teenagers and dogs and we were celebrating husbands birthday and our Golden Wedding Anniversary. Its a beautiful comfortable quirky house with a real homely feel. Really well equipped. Loads of dishes, cutlery pots and pans and enough gadgets to keep everyone happy. Loads of rooms and plenty space for everyone. Kids enjoyed exploring the house and being on the beach, seeing the seals. When the found a skeleton albeit fake in the garden they were ecstatic! The sauna stream room and hot tub went down a storm and the lads enjoyed THE BBQ cabin which girls enjoyed well equipped bar for making cocktails. Two nights just wasn't long enough. We will go back! Alan is perfect host!

What a beautiful house! Our group had an amazing stay here, we paid for both hot tubs and enjoyed the steam rooms and both saunas. The bedrooms were a good size and we had everything we needed. We did have to clean a few items before we were able to use them but this wasn't too big of a deal. We would definitely return in the future if we find ourselves heading down that way again.

The accommodation was ideal for our family party of 24. We were self-catering and found the kitchen facilities adequate although a larger fridge would have been helpful. One of the two dishwashers did not perform well at first and we found the filter and spray arms to be badly in need of cleaning! The beds were comfortable and the bathroom facilities were adequate, although the hot water took a very long time to reach the two downstairs bathrooms. The hot tub, sauna and steam room provided an enjoyable indoor activity, while the closeness to Largs, Wemyss Bay and the island ferries allowed for some good daytime excursions. Relative nearness to Glasgow Airport was also an advantage.
