The castle features nine luxurious bedrooms, all with private bathrooms, sleeping up to 22 guests. With two ballrooms, two drawing rooms, a bar, and roaring fires, it’s ideal for entertaining. Guests are welcomed by a live-in butler with champagne and canapés.
The castle’s rich history dates back to the 1600s, once owned by the Munro family. Its stunning gardens include ancient trees, a hot tub, pergola, and nature trails. Averon Castle offers a unique and grand Scottish escape.
Outdoor lovers can enjoy fishing, kayaking, boat trips to see dolphins, or a cruise on Loch Ness. Golfers will appreciate nearby courses including Royal Dornoch and Castle Stuart. Aviemore is only an hour away for skiing and adventure sports.
Averon Castle is ideally located near Alness, perfect for exploring the Highlands. The village and two renowned distilleries, Dalmore and Teaninich, are within walking distance. Other nearby distilleries include Glenmorangie, Balblair, and Glen of Ord. Enjoy fishing on the River Alness or hiking to the historic Fyrish Monument with panoramic views of Cromarty Firth. From the castle’s gardens, stroll to Alness Point, once home to RAF Alness in wwii.
The nearby village of Evanton offers the dramatic Black Rock Gorge and charming shops and cafes. Dornoch is easily reached, featuring a stunning cathedral, sandy beach, and the historic Royal Dornoch Golf Course. En route, visit Glenmorangie Distillery or anta Pottery.
