About this property

Set in 400 acres of private land with a backdrop of breath-taking Scottish countryside you will find The Grand Largs, an exceptional property accommodating up to 12 guests in the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Clyde Muirshiel Regional Park. From unwinding in the hot tub, clambering over climbing frames in the play area or hosting a lively game of pool in the games room this well-appointed holiday getaway will have something for all ages to enjoy.

Kick off wellies and coats in the generous reception hall and step into your home for the holiday. Those looking for a bit of peace and quiet can curl up with a book in the snug and sunroom, whilst older kids will make their way to the games room decked out with a pool table, air hockey and a built in Sonos system to start the party in style.  When it’s time to come together a beautiful large dining room holds a twelve-seater dining table, with sound system, where a lively evening meal can be enjoyed together with a soothing soundtrack to accompany it. Perhaps take an after-dinner drink in front of the log burner in the large sitting room where squishy sofas and a Smart TV provide the ingredients for a cosy night in.

The kitchen is lovingly designed and stocked full of the latest appliances to make your stay easy. An AGA complete with electric oven and gas hob are in place, plus a Quooker tap for instant boiling water, dishwasher, fridge freezer, wine cooler and even a Nespresso machine to make catering for a large group a walk in the park. With plenty of outdoor space, muddy clothing can easily be dealt with in the utility room with washing machine and dryer, plus a second dishwasher and fridge for further ease.

Finishing off the ground floor are two superb king-sized bedrooms with large shower and WC, perfect for those who struggle with stairs and a glorious master suite with a super-king bed and an exceptional freestanding wooden bath that oozes style and invites you in for a soak before bedtime. The ultimate in relaxation, with the added bonus of the Sonos sound system to play a bath time soundtrack.

Head up the staircase to the first floor and you will find a further three bedrooms including a king-size suite with its own Juliet balcony with exceptional views across the countryside and a comfortable seating area. The en-suite bathroom has a bath with built-in Smart TV and large shower unit, you may be tempted never to leave your room! A further two super king rooms (that both can be converted to twins with zip and link beds) come with a Smart TV and en-suite bathrooms with freestanding bath and shower and WC. Super soft towels and bed linens invite guests into their luxurious sleeping quarters, where a great night sleep will be easily achieved.

Set within 400 acres of private grounds outdoor space is here in abundance. Families will love the newly built playground area with slides and climbing frames to keep your little ones busy whilst adults can take a well-deserved dip in the hot tub and enjoy a glass of something cool and bubbly. Relax in peace and tranquillity in the numerous comfortable seating areas or take your meals outside and enjoy an al fresco meal at the outdoors table, taking in the crisp, clean Scottish air as you dine.

Tucked away on a long private tarmac drive, The Grand Largs is the perfect retreat for your holiday getaway, but if you can be tempted out of the house there is much to see and do in the stunning local area with the coast just four miles away, historic castles and delicious food to be enjoyed at local restaurants and eateries.

Within the Clyde Muirshiel Country Park, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, you will find the Grand Largs, surrounded by 400 acres of private land, perfect for those looking to get out and explore the great outdoors of Scotland.

Just four miles away is the historical coastal town of Largs which is a great spot to grab some fresh seafood from Gino’s Fryer with locally sourced lobster and mussels or just a good old-fashioned fish and chips eaten by the sea.  Roam the bespoke shops for trinkets or take a stroll down the sandy beach, it’s a great spot to relax and spend a day with the family.

Take a ferry ride from town to the Isle of Great Cumbrae, one of two offshore islands, that is home to Britain’s’ smallest cathedral, the Cathedral of the Isles, revived with a rich gothic style back in 1851. Water sports fans flock to the island for paddleboarding, windsurfing and more, whilst those interested in wildlife can keep their eyes peeled for seals, basking sharks and a wide range of seabirds that inhabit the island.

If you are looking for a round of golf, then Millport Golf Course, designed by James Braid (the architect of many of Scotland’s greatest courses) offers a unique island golfing experience.

Those hoping to soak up some local history on the mainland will not be disappointed at the magnificent Kelburn Castle and Estate with its memorable graffiti turrets and walls created by four Brazilian graffiti artists as part of an innovative art project.  There is much to see and explore from The Secret Forest with its maze and fairy village to the long winding walks past waterfalls and local wildlife, and even a Museum filled with a collection of New Zealand artefacts brought back from the 7th Earl of Glasgow, David Boyle.

Those looking to travel a little further afield could head to Wemyss Bay to catch a ferry to more of the magical islands off this glorious coast from the Isle of Arran to the stunning Isle of Bute.
